In other threads we have noticed that certain software can prevent users from editing their documents folder (Bitdefender was blocking this). The Documents folder is the location where the game will store your save files. (..\Documents\Shadow of the Tomb Raider\[Unique User ID]\ to be precise).
Please make sure you are not running any kind of anti-virus software that is preventing the game from writing to its Shadow of the Tomb Raider folder in Documents.
Almost no sense in playing it now until it's fixed.
- go to controlled folder access.
- select allow an app through controlled folder access
- select the game exe eg:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Shadow of the Tomb Raider\SOTTR.exe
(allow the UAC prompt)
then try the game again.

I'm still having the same issue, SOTTR.exe is added to my controlled folder access. The problem seems to be that when the game installs, it's not creating the Shadow of the Tomb Raider folder in my Documents.
I have no other anti virus besides Defender so I don't know what could be causing the problem.
If somebody else can test and confirm this, that would be great. The downside is that disabling exclusive fullscreen locks the framerate to 60fps, but that's not critical to me in a third-person action adventure game.
