Black screen on startup. Please help me.

Hi guys,

I need help. I get a black screen after the initial logo of the developer, but I can hear birds chirping and monkeys howling.

I have an i7 1080 GTX PC paired with 16 GB of RAM.
I have tried reinstalling the games and the graphics drivers, but no use.

This is unacceptable from a preordered AAA game. Honestly, and this is coming from a die-hard fan of the franchise.

Also try to clean your OS, re-install the latest drivers. etc.

maybe check firewall..so its not blocking the game .exe ?
When i first ran it , it was firewall for me that stopped the game.

I had it on first launch.
What I did was change the anti aliasing to something else. SMAA in my case. Then I started the game - it was black for about 30 seconds, but then switched to the main menu.

Make sure you have the black screen up and keep it in focus. Don't alt-tab to anything else.
Perhaps give it up to two minutes if needed. It could be a loading speed thing.

Verify your game's files through steam. Make sure you're running driver 399.24

I have done that, everything is OK except for the fac that the game doesn't work :(.

I get this error in the event log, Event 1002 (Error)..

in my case the game stay in black screen after I choose the difficulty, after the menu screen, and press enter to initiate the game, nothing happen, only the black screen. I don't know why

I am sorry that you too are experiencing difficulties playing this game. The launch day patch can't come soon enough :(.

Perhaps try unticking the full screen option? Or setting all options to low or off, and if that works, slowly turn things on and set to higher values.

I did all of that and nothing happened. This is beyond frustrating. :'(

kanoobi!! you were right!!! I disabled the fullscreen option and the game ran. but play in the window is bad! Is this some game error? can be corrected? Or the problem is my monitor?
