Why no flashlight button?
Game is marvellous at max settings. But in the first underground temple i cant see a damn thing!! Some areas not hit by light are extremely too dark. It's an issue if you are playing hard mode and have to see where you're going. Lara automatically activates the flashlight just when she crouches in tunnels. And then she puts it back. I need a button to activate the torchlight whenever i want.

This is just friggin retarded in a game focused in exploration of dark areas

Sounds like your screen brightness is too dark, because even in shadowed areas, I can see fine.

Or just turn the brightness up in the game display settings. I actually lowered the game brightness by 5 points because it was too bright. =P

I calibrated my monitor for realistic blacks and greys. But that does not explain why the heck you cannot manually activate a damn flashlight in a Tomb Raider game. It's painful. Have to increase brightness then lower it, then increase it, then lower it just because developers didnt add a basic feature like that

So i loaded the game and now the flashlight is constantly on. There was no flashlight when i made the save. Its too bright also.

Same for me. I've noticed this thing too. Flashlight was off, then i reloaded the game after i died and flashlight was always on.

No idea if this one is a bug or not.

Anyway i still think you should have the chance to manually activate the light whenever you want. In 2018 i think is a must have feature for an adventure game like Tomb Raider

Just tried you can fix it for now if you move through a tunel again , if there is one close by. Needs fixing.

It appears that the flashlight is scripted, there are places when you really need it. And the light is nice, not bright. Still flashlight toggle will be very nice.

the flashlight is OK. I see now after some hours of gameplay. No problems at all. Dont need toggle. The game is perfect as it is. TY :)

Yes, Dave can turn on light!

FFS, it's on when I don't need it and off when I do. Why in the hell would you take control of such a simple yet necessary item from us?

Please let me turn on my flashlight when "I" need it, instead of turning it on and off when "you" think I will.

Perhaps there's dark areas that if we could shine a light there, we'd see the digital void of an unfinished area?

In some super dark areas now im forced to increase the brightness to the max just to see where im going. Completely nonsense to me. In all adventure games i tried even in the past, if you have a light you can turn it on off at your will. But not in Tomb Raider. Apparently the light here is just an optional you dont need

This is also a problem on the consoles. They need to fix this ASAP!

I have the same problem. All tombs and crypts are so dark and have dull colours too because of that. Why isn't there an option to turn on a flashlight?

I want us players to have control over the flashlight. It should be up to us when to turn it on or off, not the game itself.

I actually sent them an email requesting this several days ago.

Turning up the brightness doesn't do the trick in some cases, for example if you are playing on a projector like I do dark information gets lost quite easily. Flashlight would be awesome. Also, I have the feeling that in the last games the flashlight / torch got activated way more often.
