But hey, it doesn't matter. Why? Because it's not MEANT to be played on the most insane graphics by everyone. It's just an option they put in for the people that enjoy spending money on their gaming systems. You can just as well put the graphics on medium-high and enjoy the game that way. They're definitely not bad graphics even if you do that. So no need to complain.
The game is not that demanding. RISE was horribly demanding, but they learned from that mistake. This game can be decently played my most systems. At least, regarding on how demanding it is (there are still other bugs though).
And BTAO instead of HBAO+
EDIT: And I might add, I can't play it on max settings either, so no, I'm not defending it because of such a reason.
This game actually runs rather well for me, even when pushing ultra settings at 1440p. It actually runs better than RotTR.
With FFXV and OBS open, I managed to prerty much max out the 1080ti's 11gb vram and 30gb of system RAM
this game clearly isn't that.
Runs just fine with ultra settings and 1440p resolution on my GTX 1080. Not having any stuttering whatsoever with 8GB vram.
That's far from "max settings"
I ditched the GTX 970 when it couldn't hit 60 fps at 1080p in Rise of the Tomb Raider.
I'd say for Rise of the Tomb Raider you'd need at least a GTX 1070 / GTX 980Ti
For this game a GTX 1080 Ti / RTX 2080
Time to say bye bye to my GTX 1080
Excuse me? This game requires lower hardware than Rise. I haven't changed hardware since, and I had to turn down Rise all the way down to low settings, and for Shadow I can *almost* put everything on max, except for two or three of the mroe demanding options.
Maybe on the ABSOLUTE MAX it might be that Shadow is more demanding, but overall it runs much more smoothly.
Shadow is far less demanding that Rise, DX12 is also implemented correctly this time around.
