Examining artifacts
Hey!

Some artifacts you can examine to find something hidden. I just can't do that. How do I find what the game wants me to find?

For example there is a rosary. Lara hints at it having an engraving. It's on the back of the amulet thingy. I'm looking at it, and nothing happens. How do I make something happen?

Just keep rotating it until the controller vibrates. But yeah the detection is off in this game.

I found it but I have no idea why. I was looking at the pendant sideways, meaning I had no way of looking at the engraving. Why does this feature suck so much?

Rotation, plus zooming in sometimes helps

From what I heard you are meant to slowly rotate it untill you hear the noise, indicating you are close, then move it slowly around that area until it works.

From experience, do that, and keep doing it over and over until it works, because wow is it bad.

Same as artifacts in Shadow of Mordor ( or many other games ). Gotta find that sweet spot.

There is a "zing" noise that it makes when you're in the area where the extra information is.
Keep rotating listening for that sound.
And slow the mouse down when doing this or you will miss the sound.

The thing is, as someone said, the area where the "zing" is, is just in the wrong place. It throws me off. The whole thing comes off as random because of it. It's extra bad because in previous TR games it wasn't this horrible.

At least there isn't any type of benefit ( or penalty ) to finding the spot or not. You can optionally dismiss the process altogether.

Actually there is, you get 10XP for triggering the "extra" spot.

I've never heard a zing noise even when I found it. Sometimes the extra information is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ obvious and still it doesn't trigger.
