What happened to Lara's sex appeal?

I mean, it's not like it's sexist to be sexy. Being sexy is good. Our heros are suposed to be exceptional humans and Lara's sex appeal is a cornerstone of the Tomb Raider brand. What gives here? Are they saying that it is bad to be sexy? I don't know, maybe I've gotten old and out of touch, but I just don't understand why we've gotten so conservative and oppressive about sexuality.

Current trilogy focuses more on Lara being stuck in a wilderness and trying to survive. Not a good environment to be flirty or look sexy while being covered in mud. I do hope, if they make more Tomb Raiders with this iteration of Lara Croft, they will make her more like her old self in future...

Because there's some idiotic mindset floating around out there that video games influence reality, and video game characters are role models for impressionable teenagers.

It's exactly what everyone is crying for.

"I want Lara to look like she used to look!"

Well guess what, you can. Exactly like she used to look. Every iteration of her. Take your pick.

Which of course makes everyone claiming that there's some agenda, that the developers don't want you to see Lara like that, that it's all political, look like complete idiots. Because if that were true, they would of course never have included those old models in the game.

What day was that?? The day TR2k13 was released. They took that 2D, Pixal'd, cartoon image and turned her into a Barbie doll. Bye Bye Imagintion

Lara Croft was never 2D, and she's never been a Barbie Doll. She was a DD with an oversized trunk and thinder thighs to begin with. When they learned how to make her with more than 24 polygons total, she evened out and her proportions stabilized, except her head was too big, and by extension her lips, which is why they picked Angelina Jolie for the movie.

However, there was plenty of cleavage, especially in the wetsuit. Then they gave fanservice outfits. Not to mention nude mods were available, so people got used to seeing her run around with just her boots, belt, backpack, gloves, and sunglasses. Then the fan art came, in 2D to 3D versions. Then the outright 3D prn.

It was from those elements that Lara Croft became a Mandela Effect - people forgot how crappy she really looked. In reality, her chest shrunk right around Chronicles, when they dropped the grid-based level designer and built a new Lara model.
So 6 games in, and they finally cut her chest down to reasonable, but still ample, proportions, yet somehow people think she was stacked like Dolly Parton in her prime.

Granted, there's a noticable difference between a C-cup and B-cup, but it's not like she went from Pandora Peaks to Mila Jovovovovich overnight.

Now that sounds like more imagintion, hope's n dreams, for any 1 person to think about.

Thats yours to dream, the point being they took your dream and made her what you see today.

She really didn't lose anything. they took there image and the guessing out and made a 1 size fits all, Lara Croft

Now you can play the game knowing what she looks like and you got something else to think about. Don't you feel better now?

She looks very good. Not like a model-porn-girl-good girl with offensive sexappeal, but a sweet and shy character which fits way better into her character/role. You shouldn't forget that these series is also before tomb raider 1. She is extremely young in those new 3 titles. Her body looks also very good and realistic. She is beautiful - without 90-60-90 image/role model.

I like her more like that then she was in the older titles. And I speak about her visual look AND character.
