Controller causing game to freeze?

So it seems as though my Xbox One Controller is causing my game to freeze... or at least some interaction between the two is.

What is happening is that I will be playing with no issue, then all of the sudden I will get MASSIVE lag, like game frozen lag, although I can still hear some sound in the background. This will happen for anywhere from 10-30 seconds, then the game will go back to normal but my XBONE controller will disconnect and I will hear the windows peripheral disconnect tone in the background.

I get 0 lag when I stick to mouse and keyboard, but everytime I use the controller this happens without fail.

Any ideas?

Using the controller is definitely my preferred method of play for this type of game...

I had this problem too, always when my conrollers Batterylvl goes empty. Since i conncted it with cable, no problems.

yeah I think it was the same thing for me, but I think my charging cable is somewhat faulty and keeps disconnecting the controller while I'm playing... stil, a pretty stupid bug to have
