dr croft/completionist achievement
can i aquire all the artifacts in one play through or does it take multiple to acquire them all?

reason i ask is because on my current play through it shows 100% for all the areas ive been to on the map, but in the artifacts menu path of the gods for example is at 87% ?

It's possible to acquire them all, but currently there's a bug in place which prevents some of them from being added to your collection. The bug has not been officially recognized, but its been widely documented by several different people.

This won't get you the Completionist achievement, but when you go for a NG+ completing more collections will add to the count for Dr. Croft even though it's collections you've completed before, so that will complete somewhere midway through most likely.

Look the comment that I told I found a bug who stoppe collecting-counter / activate for relicts etc. You have to ignore a dealer who trigger the bug that destroy the 100%. Maybe it help. If you not trigger the bug, you can make 100% in the first run without problems.

Well thats a shame, thanks for the explaination though. So i start a ng+ and at some point during that play through it ll unlock? I dont have to recollect everything do i? Lol

Same thing just happened to me. I got the Completionist Achievement (100%) but not Dr. Croft (that's 30/34). Great bug...

I think I'm just going to wait for a patch since I'll come back for a NG+ at some point anyway. I'd hate to do a NG+ and have it still be glitched.

That depends a bit on how many collections you miss. Each collection you complete will add +1 to the count. So if you're only missing 2 collections you just need to complete 2 more. If you're missing 6 (like I did) you probably won't be able to complete it until you clear the majority of Paititi.

Even with a fully suited Croft version of the game and every single outfit/weapon/accessory, you should still be able to get to the Mission of San Juan before the bug appears. If you want, you could play your NG+ through to that point, and then wait for the patch.

When I played my NG+ I created segmented saves at key locations. Like when I got to Kuwak Yaku, when I got to Paititi, and before I went in to save Unuratu. Just so if the bug did strike, I could always roll back to one of those saves.

For reference, my original playthrough bugged with 8 artifacts (and 6 outfits/weapons/accessories). My NG+ playthrough had 16 more items, so it bugged with 24 artifacts remaining. That's still the majority of Mission of San Juan looted.

My guess is some map collections (maybe the survival caches?) are writing to the relic section incorrectly. I played through with an older save, and i count 9 relics that won't stop counting for me (8 docs in the cathedral and either a mural or document in a tomb).

Thanks. I did have segmented saves from just before San Juan but I didn't feel like replaying all that I'd done after. :p

The weird thing is I had 3 collections that weren't 100% (stuck at 87%/88%/90%) but Dr Croft says I had 30/34. It just completely ignored one of the ones that did finish. I'm curious as to how the game is tracking those relics. It's not just a simple matter of a bug failing to track them since I still got Completionist. It must be separating them for some reason.

Oh, you got Completionist? That's odd. Shouldn't have been able to with bugged artifact collections.

He's talking about the traveling merchant, but that's not what bugged him. He was just on the verge of getting the bug, bought an outfit and maybe something else from her, and that "blocked" the last few relics he needed. When he didn't buy those things, he had room for them.

In fact, most people are on the verge of getting the bug in a regular playthrough I believe, as the limit is probably set so you can have exactly everything with a standard edition. It's the preorder items that push most people over the top.

I see. Thanks, Dak!
Guess I'll wait and hope they'll care to patch it eventually, since I also got the edition with the extra items.

Yep. That's what's throwing me. When I saw the Completionist achievement pop I thought, "Yes! I didn't get the bug!" Then when I was done I checked and Dr. Croft didn't pop. I also can't craft one of the outfits(get the broken purple heart instead) so my save bugs could be all over the place.

If it's an items issue maybe getting the gold weapons wasn't a help either?...I wonder if that's the case? Would mean mean they're using variable that's the wrong size and that the relics are using the same varriable as the items. At least if I understood what's being said right. That seems strange to me.

I don't have any gold items. I didn't even know there were any. O_o
