Unable to use my bow in paititi (hidden city)

To avoid spoilers, all i am going to say is that guns are restricted, but there are challenges in the city that require a bow, and even some objects that require you to use a bow to pull down barriers, but I cannot use the bow ANYWHERE in the city. When i right click (or press left trigger) to aim, It just zooms in but lara does not bring out her bow.

What am i missing? Is this normal? I am using the rebel outfit. I know you cannot use guns in the city, but laras bow is equipped on her back but i cannot use it.

When your actually aimed at the correct target, your bow will come out and let you fire. There's still a tiny dot in the center of the screen. Aim with it.

Thanks. This is interesting. My game must have bugged out earlier because I was at one point able to run around the city with my bow out EVERYWHERE just an hour ago. Now its like you say, you have to aim at whatever can turn red when you aim at it, and then press the fire button and your bow will come out.
