Post your [CPU bound] benchmark results [Test your CPU/Compare with others]
Try to artificially remove all GPU bottlenecks by dropping resolution to 800x600. Then, select the lowest preset. Then, run the benchmark and share your results. This way you can see how far your CPU can push past the GPU limits.

i7 4770k, 1070gtx, no oc, 16gb 1866mhz
dx12, exclusive fullscreen, everything on lowest setting, 800x600

average 124

cpu game min 87, max 167, average 124, 95% 92
cpu render min 110, max 367, average 209, 95% 144
gpu min 225, max 460, average 293, 95% 242
gpu bound 0%

btw how to upload pictures on steam? like in OP post

thank you

Nice. Thanks for the input. It seems that this game really utilizes cores with DX12. My i7 8700K has higher single threaded IPC performance than your i7 7820x, but the extra 2 cores and 4 threads on your CPU made it push past mine. Proves how evenly the game utilizes CPU cores unlike many other games in DX11 that are reliant on single thread performance.

Actually using low settings is not really a CPU bound test as many settings in modern games impact the CPU not just a GPU. That's the reason a crappy CPU can usually get by just fine in games on low settings. In some games just the shadow setting alone can have massive impact on the frame rate when using low instead of ultra or very high and it's CPU Limited in many games.

Hit F12 while in game. It will save a screenshot on your local harddrive. Then, you can go to settings in steam, then "in-game", then click "screenshot folder". The saved screenshot will be there. Just click upload and it will upload the screenshot on steam clouds. While logged in, go to "content" from your profile and you will see the screenshot uploaded there. Then, right-click the screenshot and click "copy link address". Then, paste the link here. It will show up like that above.

100% true. But, I'm still significantly GPU bound even at 800x600 with anything higher than the lowest settings lmao. Even with my 980 Ti overclocked to beyond 1500 MHz!! So, setting lowest preset was the only option. And, even then, I still see 99% GPU usage for few seconds in benchmark (though that's probably negligible because GPU bound is 0%). May be I would get another 2 to 3 fps at lowest settings (800x600) if I had a better graphics card.

Given vast majority of people here would have GPUs on par with a 980 Ti, i.e., 1070 level or weaker graphics card, it makes more sense to ask them for the lowest settings.. in case there are people with monster CPUs out there with these cards to avoid GPU bottleneck entirely. For someone with an 8700K like mine, I may need 1080 OC or 1080 Ti to completely eliminate GPU bottleneck at 800x600 (lowest selectable resolution) if chosen ultra shadow and all that CPU intensive settings. Because those settings are GPU heavy as well lol.. thus GPU bottlenecking will be invalidating the "CPU" benchmark.

Why on Earth are you still using that old GPU? Multi-gpu support is going down more and more each year so in about half the games that came out this year you're just running a single 680 essentially. Not to mention you only have 2 gigs of vram.
