Locked chests
Ok, something is strange. I'm near to 60% of the story finished and i'm still not able to open these damn chest because i don't have the thing to open them.

I'm at the underwater ruins (just after the village yaga thing (where we meet the first pirannas) and i have the impression that i probably missed this tool (called "crochets" in french).
I know that tomb raider games are the kind to make you go somewhere, then come back in previous places to collect what you wasn't able to open when you crossed them, but it would be REALLY annoying and frustrating if i had to finish the game without being able to open a single chest. Especially when i know that i'll need to come back to this f*****ing underwater ruins map to get one and when i see that i don't find the damn way to the surface because these damn pirannas are eating me (around 20 times yet now)

So my question is simple: Will i find the thing to open locked chest before finishing the game or did i miss it, or do we need to finish the game to find it ?

You might not find it, I didn't on my first playthrough.

You get lockpick from a merchant in side quest in Hidden City (Paititi). Look for boy who lost his dice and follow the story. When you get to merchant, have enough gold on hand to buy lockpick and rope ascender at once, as that merchant is difficult to find afterwards.

I bought mine from a merchant, i don't remeber where tho, if i'm correct it's the merchant in Kuwak Yaku. and the tool is a lock-pick :)

when you get to Paititi you can buy it from a merchant .

damn... It mean i will probably have it in 2 years, when i will be able to avoid pirannas lol (and i know we are supposed to be able to avoid them in herbs, but only supposed because herbs don't seem very efficient)

Use the seaweeds to hide from them as you swim.
