Definitive edition question

I only purchased the base game back in the day, but now my game got update to the definitive edition for free?? I mean, I have all the dlc content now or what

Do you actually have all the DLC now? You can check this by right-clicking the game in your library's list on the left-hand pane of that window. Click the appropriate options in the sub-menu that pops up.

But in any case, I doubt you would. The definitive edition includes the DLC at a slightly lower, bundled price now -- think of it as a discount on last year's Croft Edition of the game. AFAIK, we can't even buy Croft and Deluxe Editions' dlc anymore, as they come now as part of the DE bundle.

However, the physical retail copy for consoles is comparatively less than Steam's. Here in Canada, SOTR: DE costs nearly $80 on Steam and at EB Games it is approximately $50 (with the original base game now dropped to $40, new and unused condition). Who knows what unsold copies of the previous DLC editions are now.

It says manually but it's actually automatic, right?
I see nowhere in the DLC section where I'm supposed to upgrade this here on Steam.
I'm downloading right now but from the thumbnails it seems it has updated itself?
