Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Which option to buy?)
Just finished the demo and want to continue to play. I see there are different options with the game itself, Croft Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition. Season Pass. The descriptions are not clear about these options. For example, what the Season Pass do? Is it beneficial to have the 1 weapon/outfit (part of the digital deluxe edition) and 2 Additional weapons/outfits? Any advice on which option to buy? Also, is it better to uninstall the demo first?

you buy either the base game itself, no frills, or the season pass, contain's all 7 DLC's, all weapons, skills, outfits. anything in the middle will short change you by dropping some of the items that are in the season pass.

Thanks. If I don't have all those weapons, skills, etc., will I still be able to complete the base game reasonably? What is season pass anyway? Is it a one time payment for new content to be reasoned every month? Until when will they stop releasing new content? I read that "Season Pass content will release on a monthly basis starting November 2018." Sounds like I may have to pay again every season...

Since you don't have the game and say you buy the season pass now, there is no wait time, you get everything we got over a 7 month period. Or just buy the base, there are no add-on weapons, skills, outfits, tombs.

Run time for the base game for a seasoned raider, 35hrs. For season pass holders, the 7 DLC's fit in like an expantion pak and will add 8+ hrs. to your time.

To view the added content, goto the store page, click on the DLC tab and it will take you to the page where they are listed. All 7 DLC's come with the season pass. If you decide you don't want the pass, you can buy any of the add-on tombs you want, 1 at a time, except the Path Home DLC that only come's from buying the season pass, each tomb come's with, 1 new weapon, 1 new outfit, and 1 new skill. If your unsure about any of this, download the demo and play it.That's about 1hr. of play time. Any other questions? Ask now.

Thanks. Right now, the base game is $79.99 while the Season Pass is $39.99. The Croft version is $119.03 so it is a better deal as it will include everything without extra cost of buying only the base game and the season pass. Am I right?

no, i would suggest getting the season pass and be done with it. you will have the entire game and all the perks along with it. $40.00usd is a good deal. don't pass it by.

I am a bit confused. I have not bought the base game yet. So, base game+season pass is $119.98 which is more expensive than the $119.03 Croft version which includes the base game+season pass. Could you please clarify?

no, the season pass is $29.99usd as of right now. thats on the store page. accept friend invite i sent and we can get out of the forum

My suggestion, get the croft edition. Everything is included.
The whole lot should keep you busy for over 40h. If you take the time to explore and collect, that is.

Thanks all. I think I know where the confusion is. The prices I quoted are in Canadian currencies. Do you expect there will be more price drop in the near future? I think I missed the summer big sale.

the 29.99usd price is better then 50% off. the base game alone was 60.00usd.

In order to play the season pass he needs to own the base game first, which he doesn't. Cost of the croft edition is cheaper than base game plus season pass.

Without the base game he wouldn't even be able to buy the season pass anyway.

I guess I forgot about that. I don't know why I was thinking the season pass was the entire package. Back in Sept. of last year it was that way. Perhaps they broke it up for whatever reason.

I had early access last year and paid 1 price for all. I've not had to look at the store page for any price changes since my game was complete. When he quoted a price of $119.00usd only then did I glance at the page.

If you have a better deal for him, the floor is yours.
Base game is enough. Most DLCs is not so worth. But if you want to purchase DLCs,don't buy them separately for there is DLC that is only included in Season Pass and can't be purchased alone.

Given that Steam just had a summer sale, do you expect there will be price drop in the near future?

Should I uninstall the demo version first before buying and installing?
