RTX on VS off
So when i enable RTX im getting over 60 fps...but when i disable RTX and use smaa4x i drop to around 40 fps....what am i looking for in terms of graphics when RTX is on?? any input...sorry this thread has probably been discussed before.

Btw, i am playing on ulta settings....i have a RTX 2060..1080p...

ill add that i am pushing 80 to 100 fps when rtx is on...sorry...i said 60 before..
You probably have dlss enabled with rtx on instead of other antialiasing it can only be used in rtx mode. It's probably worth it with your card so you can use rtx with higher frames, still will look good. If you disable it you will have lower framerates with rtx on but it will look clearer since dlss renders at a lower resolution. You can try using no antialiasing at all with rtx see what happens

I noticed if rtx is on there is not AA effect
RTX is ray traces shadow maps. DLSS is a form of AI image upscaling that runs the game at a lower resolution but outputs to a higher one. As for SMAA4X, that is a very intensive form of super sampling AA so it's no surprise that you are seeing a big hit to performance when that is running.

I cannot fathom how can be someone so uninformed even after reading description of what each mode does... Super sampling is called SSAA. SMAA is something entirely different and the reason why 4x tanks so much is because it uses MSAA.
