floors disappearing

loaded up my sandbox game and some of the floors have turned to grass and iam unable to build on them

I had the same issue when I loaded a tutorial level i had stopped in the middle of.

I own the gog version and just encountered this glitch.

The floor glitch where you can't place anything after loading a save even though i play as admin.
Anyway in case this happens just go to the campaign select level and load the last save game as many times as you want.
It happened to me like this, i pressed resume on main menu i notice the floor glitch by having missing flooring on the 3rd level load save game by going into the campaign and select load or just load a game while being at the level and see if it fixes itself.
Anyway did you try reloading the level and did it fix itself then?

Encountered the floor bug in my last 2 games. The tutorial where half of the floors were missing and thus couldn't build anything on them.

The second map was worse. ALL my floors were missing and couldn't replace carpets or replace the arcade cabinets that the aliens stole. Tried loading the game several times and still couldn't build anything. On top of that when i try to turn on appeal it gives no stats. The only crumb of comfort was that no one was littering as it didn't appear on the floor...

The floor glitch if it happens and you save the game in that save file you are stuck then with the floor glitch. I tested it out so the only way to fix the floor glitch is in a save file that didn't glitch the floor and load that. If you remember right that the floor wasn't glitched and you still get a glitched floor just reload like i mentioned in my first post here. Though i only use manual saves. I always check my floors when i load a game to see if it didn't glitch.

I think the risk/chance occurs when you start decorating floors (ie adding carpets etc) i don't see the problem when i save, only after loading. I'll experiment a bit (make multiple saves, try instant loading as soon as i notice it etc.) how reliable/practical to maintain vigilance.

So after a few days playing the disappearing floors problem is still an issue, but thankfully loading the game immediately again did help restore the map. So there is a work around i guess

Just recently purchased the game, and I am on the third campaign level. The game had a power surge, and the game subsequently crashed. Now reloading the file, it always has the missing floor. Interestingly enough, it goes in a |x|x| pattern.

I have the floor glitch in my save, so I started a new arcade and the entire floor is missing. Cant place anything at all now, no matter how many times I try to make a new arcade :(

So I had that problem in Sandbox mode and even if I started a new arcade in sandbox mode it had no floor. I then deleted my existing profile and created a new one at the title screen and the no floor bug was not present. So currently creating a new profile is the solution I guess.

A couple times I loaded the save I had on the new profile and the floor bug returned. Both times I quit and manually loaded the save and the floor was back. I also now just manually save and never load an autosave or quit-save.

Exact same issue, but the game is fully abandoned so were unlikely to ever see a fix.
