Solitary Island - Iron?

Started Solitary Island level, have a mission to build an Iron Forge, however the island has no iron mine and no option for me to build an iron mine (just a blacked out/unavailable gold mine).

Am I missing something? How do I even get the 1 iron that I need to build an Iron Forge?

Want to say I'm really enjoying the campaign so far, thank you!

If I remember right, you need to build a harbour, so a trader can come

You have to start building an iron forge. As soon as you used all available materials for that you should get a new task which leads to iron eventually. If that doesn't work it is probably a bug and you have to try to demolish and place the forge again.

Thanks guys, gonna leave this here in case anyone else searches for this. It does update your quest log after you build most of the Iron Forge.

Sorry AT 1st Class, but you were correct, and I've had to come back and edit this! You just need to wait for several hours with the Iron Forge being "almost" completed, before a path opens up to continue. While I was "stuck", I just kept building other buildings and playing around, and after several hours of game time, the path to completing the Iron Forge (and the reason why there was no Iron Mine on the island) becomes clear.

I think this is the island where I'm stuck, the one where you build your first church and do research? My problem is I can't even place an iron forge anywhere on the island to *start* building, I assume because there's no iron mine. How do I get it started?

Place down the blueprint and it will kick on the next stage of getting that one iron.

I must be on a different island because there is an iron mine. I just wasn't placing the building close enough to it to accept.
