I'm gonna google ginormo sword now, never heard of it
watching the video I kept thinking of sega
Ginormo Sword was a definite influence on the development of Bold Blade.
I got really into playing it and wanted to make a game with a similar feel, but addressed a variety of issues I had with its original design.
The sword mechanics in Bold Blade are completely different. The aim was to achieve a better sense of physicality, with more ease of use. Unlike Ginormo Sword you won't wear out your mouse finger. Personally I ended up using an auto-clicker to get to endgame in Ginormo Sword.
The enemy behavior is different, in Bold Blade they don't just aimlessly wander the screen and there are different types.
Bold Blade has a defense shooting minigame that you can play for a change of pace.
Bold Blade has a concrete end point, with a short ending cinematic. Though if you enjoy the gameplay and want to play more, you can restart your quest with new game plus.
I hope that sufficiently answers your question. Feel free to comment if you have any additional questions or input.
Khajiit Pai, that is rather complementary, as I like Genesis-era sprite work and my style is influenced by it.
I attempted a "New Game" on the save slot, no prompt, it overwrote my game and started new, losing all previous progress.
So my question: how does one activate NG+? I want to make sure my facts are straight, as I've already create the video and my impressions of the game, to be published tomorrow.
Thank you.
Unless I'm severely missing how to move on from the first screen of missions after beating the final area, or how to activate a NG+ mode... no, there's not a lot of content here.
I also don't know the price, I haven't been given those details yet. If it's priced based on what I conceive is the total content, then it will be inexpensive. But I need to know these details, my impressions video is ready to go based on my experience as it stands now.
@Voidfox The game was updated last night with additional content that includes New Game+ content as well as a variety of fixes. You can check the readme file in the install directory for details. Since you played a pre-release version of the game, changes are prone to happen.
@Sidbot Bold Blade isn't nearly so grindy as Ginormo Sword, but if you only play through once it's a relatively short game.
