Unable to Play this game

I am trying to play the 111th soul game. The problem I am having is that my mouse does not respond when clicking on the door, window or anyrhing within the room. When I move my mouse around the screen/room rotates, spins. The instructions for using my keyboard says W - move forward, S - move backwards, A - strafe left, D - strafe right, Escape - quit, mouse 1 - examine -use, 1, 2, 3, choose dialog. These are the only instructions I was given. My keyboard is not responding to the commands. How do I play this game? Does anyone know how to help me?
I have a desktop computer, using windows 10, 64-bit. It seems that I can play the Rusty Lake games with no problems. Am I missing something. Please advise and school if you have time and patience. Thank you
