F.A.Q.s
1- Who are Broken Games?
We’re a small team of three indie developers and gamers ourselves. For more information you should visit our website at: http://www.brokengames.de/

2- How long have you worked on this game prior to release?
We have worked on the game for 4 years before finally being able to release it.

3- Is the game Pay-to-win?
The game is not pay-to-win as you can unlock any cards in the game with in-game currencies. Our business model is free-to-play and pay-to-advance-faster, the ONLY things that can only be bought with real money are skins, to help support the game. You can also buy profile and deck icons, and also emotes when we release them, with both types of currencies as well.

4- Is there a roadmap for this game?

5- Are there other platforms or OS planned besides Steam/Windows?
Of course we would consider it at some point but as of now we are too small to add a programmer that would be dedicated to working on some or all of those versions so it really depends on the success of the game.

6- Do you plan to add cards to the existing factions?
It is possible but we are not ready to discuss our existing factions’ possible expansion plans at this point in time, we want to focus on the other most important features already mentioned.

7- How many legions do you plan to add?
If we are successful enough, we have plans for at least one more.

8- Will the game have an in-game chat?
We plan on adding one at some point. It’s one of the most requested features.

9- How will the ranking system work?
We think there will be 25 ranks and a system in general similar to the one in Hearthstone.

10- Are you guys planning a pro scene at some point?
Right now we are too small to dedicate time or effort towards that, we will reconsider this path when we are closer to releasing the ranked mode.

11- Do you plan to balance the game for single color or dual color decks more?
Balancing the game for dual-colors also means that single color decks get balanced at the same time, so we're definitely aiming to balance dual-color decks.

12- What is the maximum level?
The maximum is currently set at level 60. We are considering ideas to keep it interesting when you reach max level, something similar to the Paragon levels in Diablo 3.

13- What is in place to prevent a new player from getting destroyed by a veteran in Quick Play matches?
We have separated the game into 4 tiers and you can ONLY be matched against players in the same tier. That means no matter how you and your opponent acquired your cards, your decks are still of similar strength.

14- What are the differences between the types of cards?
Spawners are placed on the grid and release units over time, while the summons, spells and buildings are cast by the player within a friendly zone of control.

15- How does the spawning work?
The grid is composed of 20 tiles. Every 2 seconds a random tile fades from the grid. If you have a spawner on it it will spawn the unit. Every 40 seconds the grid refreshes and the order in which the tiles fade is randomized.

16- Why are the spawns randomized, will we ever be able to choose the order of spawn?
The spawns are randomized because 3 years ago when the game was being developed it became quite clear that having a fixed order of spawning was much less fun. The idea was thoroughly tested and we feel confident in saying that it is many times more fun with the randomized spawners. There is the possibility of making an event to allow players to experience it for themselves but this is not a priority at this point.

17- What if I think there's a card or combo that is breaking the game and needs to be nerfed asap?
Feedback is really important for us in that regard, you can let us know preferably through the Discord server, or also via Steam forums, just make sure to mention the tier at which you are noticing the imbalance because what might be OP in bronze tier might not require any changes whatsoever in the other tiers.

18- Do you guys only work on making the game better, or do you also play it?
Since the launch we've had to focus on development but we still try and get a couple games in every day to play with the community. Our philosophy is: If it's fun enough for us we hope it's fun enough for you too!

19- Why can't I cast Surge of Light on the enemy?
You must first heal an ally in order to gain counters, which are the damage-dealing component of the spell. Counters are consumed when damage is dealt.

20- Will you introduce more maps in the game?
There won't be new maps in the near future since we are a very small team and it takes a long time to create one. We are considering seasonal themed maps as an option.

21- Will I ever be able to spectate other matches or view replays?
Spectator mode is on our to-do list but we want to achieve certain milestones before we introduce it into the game. A handful of spectators is currently technically possible, but if we want to scale it to hundreds of viewers it will be a lot more difficult. Replay mechanics would need a whole new way of thinking as everything is simulated on the servers, but we have some ideas how to achieve this. Being able to view replays would come after the spectator mode.

23- I had to go away for X reason and lost my premium time, can I get some extra?
Sorry but unless it’s an extraordinary circumstance we will not be issuing a refund. We are considering implementing an option to turn off premium time. We do however give out premium time whenever the servers have prolonged hiccups.

24- I play the game in X language and the translation is sometimes wonky, or just plain wrong, what can I do to help?
The translation is done by the community, through the Crowdin platform, you can follow the link https://crowdin.com/project/riseoflegions and start suggesting better translations in just a few clicks. If there is no proofreader in your language then the community can suggest different translations and you can vote amongst yourselves to vote for the most precise one. If you happen to have experience in translation you can contact us to become a proofreader, we are still looking for a few of them.
