On a positive side, If you don't have Airport Madness 3D, I highly recommend it. But be aware that it's not a real simulator. That said, it is very demanding and a lot of fun keeping all the inbound and outbound traffic without crashes. It brings also some slight improvements over its predecessor.
On a negative side, if you have Airport Madness 3D, I cannot recommend it. In my humble opinion, Volume 2 should have been a free upgrade to the previous one or, at most with just a small fee for previous owners.

I've been a long time supporter of this developer and this is his first release I'm rather upset with. Like all his previous releases, he promised new airports released as part of the purchase which has traditionally been about one a month. Instead of getting free new airports as advertised, he goes straight into Version 2, the quest for more money!

Okay, I have enjoyed his releases so I went ahead an purchased this release. It's not a stand alone, it doesn't introduce anything new that AM3D V1 doesn't already have, just more airports. Well, actually these are mostly airports already developed in his earlier 2D versions, but at least they do present some different challenges. But he was apparrently in a bug rush to get this out as there's quite a few pathing bugs on the ground.

This is the first time I'm sending this developer negative press/feedback mainly since this release has more bugs than Version 1 and for the false advertising on the first release that was supposed to see the additional airports as part of that purchase.

I bought this game as I have played the original Airport Madness 3D. To be honest, it's not more than a map expansion pack for the game, and I wouldn't mind paying for that, but it's not a new game.

Further, some of these new maps are fun because they are complex with lots of runways, but only some of them are actually available for tasking aircraft to.... what's the point in having lots of runways if you can't use them!?

A fun little game, but not a new game compared to the original, and inability to use all the runways on new maps.

18 months after the release of volume 1 and after doubling the airports in volume one (from 4 to 8), this developer has released volume 2 of Airport Madness 3D. Volume 1 received several enhancements over the 18 months I owned it, and I expect that same to be true for volume 2. There are 8 all new airports and several user interface improvements that have enhanced game play quite a lot.

The game itself is still challenging and fun, and has the "just one more try" factor that has kept me up beyond my bedtime on several occasions. The different game modes keep the game interesting and challenging for quite a while.

I don't have a problem with volume 2 being offered at the same price as the original software, as it offers sufficient value (I have 70+ hours in volume 1) to justify its price, and I expect it to receive the same love and attention the first volume has received.

It really is just more maps for the existing game at an unfair price.

The Madness begins again! A 2nd volume of 8 fantastic airports to play with, crash aircraft and get frustrated over. Then play them again and again and again! Because you're not actually frustrated with the game, but with yourself for failing hard!

In the first Volume the original 4 airports that came with Volume 1 were pretty good. As the game developed 4 more were added over time, showing a marked improvement in quality with each new airport release. Volume 2 alone is a collection of airports that showcases how much Big Fat Simulations has improved over that original volume. The airports are more detailed, more complex, and compared to the original airports, some here are huge!

If you're new to Airport Madness 3D, I will reiterate, this is an Arcade game based on time mangement and ever increasing levels of multitasking. So I recommend starting with Volume 1. The airports in Volume 2 are no pushover to beat..

Hong Kong is a good starter, but is very heavy traffic, finding gaps are easier, but queues will quickly arise.

London & Nepal will test your time management skills to the limit. Every inch counts on a Single Runway where air traffic will be coming at you head on as you try to move aircraft back the way they came.

Chicago is the jewel in the crown with 8 runways to keep track of and aircraft coming and going on each. Multitasking better be your strong point. Crashes are a certainty, the very definition of Madness!

Also, more 'feature' content will be coming in the future too at no additional cost. This isn't just more airports at a price (which the developer deserves to be paid for).. There are planned features such as emergencies, night time play and more! So this is a game worth investing in as the developer is always adding new stuff through updates and patches.

So whilst Volume 2 may be more of the same gameplay, this is by no means bad at all.. The series goes from strength to strength, and Volume 2 offers the best Airport Madness experience to date!

I love it! Plain and simple... Here's to another 75+ hours of fantastic fun!

I have been a Big Fat Simulations-fan since Airport Madness part 1, so it won't be a surprise to read this positive post. Airport Madness 3D-part two has eight airports in various difficulty levels, starting with Hong Kong (easiest IMHO) to Lukla (very, very, very hard).

There have been lots of discussions why this should or should not be a seperate game. Well, i for one feel the gameplay is different. This installment has upgraded the levels of difficulty slightly (never has so much crashed in the first 10 hours of game-play). Also, do not forget this is still a one-man show who has delivered and fixed everytime. The best change is a fix for stuck aircraft.

If you don't have part one, buy the bundle. If you do have part one, get this one also.

I do have to say that Airport Madness World Edition also had potential, so i hope the 3D versions will be kept up-to-date in the future.

Thumbs up for the developer (still hoping both editions will get four more airports as upgrade...).

Review edit (dec. 17th 2017): The only downside is that scores are saved locally at this time, so if you play on more then one machine (like me), you will have different scores on both.

I really like this series of games but there is not enough differance from Airport Madness 3D to this version, it feels just like a money grab, it is sad because i exspected more from this dev. Just getting greedy.

Slight polish & improvements to graphics
UI has had an overhaul
Stats now log your "Career" progress at each Airport

Nothing above really justifies a "New" Volume? It could all have been added to Volume 1 tbh. Now perhaps there is some behind the scenes non-tangible improvements but I honestly doubt it was so extensive a new volume was required.

I think the Airports should have been DLC as should the Aircraft and in all honesty the "Career" element is long overdue and should have been patched in for free. As a result now ALL Volume 1 players have a game with limited content that they can never upgrade (just my 2p).

That being said, if you don't have volume 1 and you're into ATC then this is a very good middle-ground opener for those wanting to get into ATC.

It is deliberately very challenging & this is a good thing because it will challenge you a great deal.

The inclusion of more airports keeps things interesting and also offers up a number of different challenges.

Overall
Good game that runs at a solid 60FPS and has no real issues (now that bugs have been ironed out). It will challenge you beyond your limits and if ATC is of interest to you then you will enjoy this game on the most part until the unrealistic(ness) of it all forces you to move onto something more Simulation.

At this price I think it is borderline taking the mick but it does what is says on the tin, it's a good Simcade and really it has no major faults or issues that I can see.
