IMO, her CS1 casuals were the best.[lh6.googleusercontent.com]
I can't really see Fie in...basically just an overcoat and MEGA mini shorts.
CS 3 Design is similar but has a more anime look. Looks comparable to most Tales Of protagonists (Milia and Velvet say hi) would wear honestly.
This game is just ew...doesn't really fit her character at all lol
1: Looks like something she'd wear
2: Provides fanservice by design rather than exposure. (See: Velvets default outfit in Tales of Berseria)
3: Actually protects her from the weather (that coat is barely covering anything)
4: Doesn't outright say 'hey, this is fanservice, deal with it'
I liked Fie because of her *character* she was interesting enough as she was in CS1.
Well....okay.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of Velvet's outfit either.
I'd say it's about the same on this front. Yeah, the coat is ridiculous, but the only thing she traded it for is some leggings?
Eh.....maybe.
CS3 outfit trades a rediculous trench coat for a combat vest (or something that looks like one at least) which she'd be more likely to wear. Fie displays a clear non-understanding of what girls wear in CS1 during her link events. Her upbringing in a Jager corp clearly shaped her interest in function over fashion.
Leggings, arm Guards, and skirt are questionable design choices, but at least she's more covered. What she's wearing doesn't look like it'd chafe like hell in combat. (like her mega mini shorts in CS2) They sort of provide protection (that material could be bulletproof for all we know) while not hindering mobility.
Both Velvet and Fie's CS3 outfits are more tastefully done for JRPG anime game standards. Trust me, if they were going for sex appeal on both, could've been a LOT worse.
Same with Mila Maxwell too, true it's obvious what the devs are going for, but all the outfits in Tales of that aren't proper dress clothes are absolutely silly.
Teo walking around two weeks after taking a machine gun burst to the back at near point-blank range? Sure, why not? Giant stompy mechs that violate the laws of physics and military doctrine both? Seems legit. But Fie not dying of hypothermia? To me, it crosses the line.
The CS3 outfit looks okay to me. CS2's outfit is much more revealing and fanservicey from my perspective.
Bear in mind she's 15...it's incredibly weird that you'd want 'fanservice' on a 15 year old.
Look at Claires casual clothes, that to me is fanservice on her part, since she's usually in uniform.
It looks like actual clothes she'd wear.
I'm not far enough in the game to see all the other female designs, but I'm willing to bet they aren't as bad as Fie's, even accounting for DLC and casual wear.
I never said I wan't 15 year old fan service. Also no her CS3 outfit doesn't fit in trails whatsoever. Her CS2 one fits right in though, how? Well lets just say she is not the first jeager girl to appear in this series. If you don't know what I am talking about check out Randy's cousin.
Honestly to me you are the one who wants fanservice considering her outfit in CS3 is literally a super mini skirt (because of which they needed to use black censor in one of her scenes in CS3 might I add) , straps , leggings. It was designed with pure fanservice in mind. We have had bracers with "appealing" dresses before but they were either worn by someone like Schera who likes to show off OR weren't as fan servicy as Fie's outfit in CS3. Also again lemme repeat myself, there is a scene in CS3 where they used black censor (you know the one to cover the under parts) because of just how short the skirt is. It may not seem too short in the artwork but that thing is pretty much nonexitent when looked at in any other pose. Hell just check out her S-Craft art. It doesn't even cover anything.
It honestly looks like her leggings and gloves would tear if she even so much as was tossed against a rock by a monster. Fie appear apathetic, but she never came across as so apathetic as to not care what she wore. Indeed, given her line of work (especially in Sen 3), she should be wearing at least a full layer of actual clothes for protection.
Indeed; the only other characters in the entire series with this much skimpy clothing are Luciola from Trails in the Sky, Rixia from Crossbell, and Shirley. Luciola is... wearing a latex suit with practically no shirt on.[vignette.wikia.nocookie.net] Luci probably has the worst character design in the series. . It sort of makes sense if you acknowledge that she's crazy, but still.[vignette.wikia.nocookie.net] Rixia is a dancer apart of a circus troupe, so her skimpy circus outfit also makes sense. Her choice of combat dress... not so much.[vignette.wikia.nocookie.net] Imagine Rixia (who is a melee fighter) being bitten in the tush by a wolf or some other ferocious monster...
I suppose CS2 Alisa sort of counts, but there's a disconnect between the Alisa of CS1 who is going through her rebellious teenager phase dressing up as a K-pop idol, and the Alisa we know who is embarrassed to be seen in a sexual light. Not to mention, that there is a war going on during CS2, and she's trying to NOT stand out, as well as be able to fight...
It's not even good fanservice; Kloe, Ries, Laura, Towa, Ferris, Claire, and Elise are far more "sexy" then any of the explicitly fanservice characters... and they're wearing full on clothes.
With Luci it makes kinda sense since she is an old circus actress and her title is literally "bewitching bell".
