Laura: Offensive physical damage powerhouse
Fie: Evade tank & delay abuser
Alisa: CP Battery, Insight spammer, and Healer with Heavenly Gift
Sara: I guess prob somewhat of a lesser mix of Fie's speed & Laura's damage output.
Millum: Reserve party typically... Just really doesn't stand out in any way.
Emma can be good at healing...but Elliott is better so why not use him?
Laura: Heavy Physical damage
Fie: Quick turns, Evasion, Turn Delayer
Alisa: Secondary Healer, Team Saver
Millium: Physical Tank
Sara: Absorb HP Tank
Fie - Speedy, Fragile and weak-hitting physical hitter. Great on trash enemies, ineffective and dies a lot on bosses on higher difficulties. Practically demands min-maxing for effectiveness on higher difficulties.
Laura - Physical powerhouse with enough HP to tank some hits. Stack her with big damage boosts.
Millium - Hits pretty hard but doesn't have the HP to stand up to much punishment. Has more AoE crafts than Laura, I guess. Also extremely slow. Average.
Sara - I dunno. I've had a hard time using her. She only has a few crafts and they're all AoE attacks. I think I've decided to use Tauros on her to make her hit harder overall, because she's very fast. Thor doesn't restore enough to be worthwhile keeping on her.
Alisa - Versatile caster/healer hybrid. Obviously her CP restoring capability is incredibly useful, so stick a Gladiator Belt onto her. Has enough ATS to be a solid caster, and her speed is high, right behind Rean's. Keep the Angel MQ on her. At max level, with the proper setup, it can turn her into a rapid-fire spammer of Space Arts. She's excellent in boss fights because she can tank a party wiping attack then get everyone back up again.
Typically found Machias and Jusis to be equally useless. Jusis is very middling. His Arts aren't strong but neither is his physical damage. He's meant to kind of be a mix I believe but as a result there's just better party members to use. Fie out performs with physical damage and Alisa out performs with Arts. Machias I never really liked him as a character tbh and never really figured out what he brings to the table in any degree that others don't do better.
Emma may be slow by default, but with some accessories it's not that hard to bring her speed up to par with the slower end of your party spectrum.
Fie I wouldn't say is fragile, if anything I'd say she's practically untouchable. As an evade tank, only Arts ever touch her and without speed accessories her speed is easily well above the rest.
Laura is fairly slow by default too so stacking some speed accessories is pretty nice. Imagine being almost as fast as Fie but still hitting the hardest of the team. Enemies just don't stand a chance.
Millium, I don't understand the previous comment about not having the HP to stand up to punishment since her entire utility is about outright immunity to damage. Just keep those statuses applied. But yeah... Millium imo is mostly as worthless as Elliot, Jusis, and Machias overall when compared against the rest.
Sarah is kind of an all rounder. She's good at everything, but I don't think it would be easy to make her broken in any field in reverse. So in a party of 4 if you want everyone specialized she doesn't really fit in. She's never bad to use tho, no matter the rest of the party, and if she's here you make your party more flexible to various encounters. If the party was made of 5 characters instead of 4, I think she would be the perfect fit for the 5th spot.
Also Fie if made as an avoidance tank, and with the critical riposte quartz, strength boosting quartz and the master quartz that increase damage when you're full life can hit very strongly and very often. Not as strong as "all in strength" Laura, but Fie can tank bosses that would one or two shot Laura so she advantageously replaces her if you want~.
Milium is good if you don't intend to abuse the avoidance mechanic with Fie.
