Are there fixes for the MANY severe audio bugs?
I'm just past the Terra Shrine point of the game so still extremely early and already I am beyond fed up with the audio bugs 2 has that were no where to be seen in 1 thankfully. I'm dealing with the BGM during cutscenes not switching at certain points for upwards of 30 seconds sometimes while hard freezing the scene until the music changes, music lagging behind if you speed through battles and the victory screens, level up and up lines lagging behind, music lagging behind as you go through different trigger points, victory theme getting stuck on a loop in the overworld, etc etc. There are so many and these are triggering every single battle or scene without fail. I urgently need a fix to keep playing on PC.

Played through the game twice, never experienced any of these problems. I would assume something other than the game is likely at fault.

Sounds like an issue from turboing through things. Maybe your hard drive is too slow to keep up? Have you made sure the game is updated to the latest version? What FPS did you set the game to? If not locked to 60FPS, then try doing that. If it doesn't help, try lowering some other settings.

Has nothing to do with spec issues I can tell you that. Whatever is causing it is purely on the game and poor coding. Every single bug is connected to the audio and I could record the issues happening with any and all cutscenes on demand. It's a 100% trigger thing not some rare issue for me. I did try adjusting FPS after digging around other threads that bring up the issue but that didn't turn out to be a fix and I still can't find any.

Alright well if you're not willing to troubleshoot and just want to blame it on "poor coding", no one can help you. But in my experience helping people on this forum, issues like this always turn out to be an external issue and not actually related to the game itself.

How are you jumping to me not trying to troubleshoot XD I just said it's not a spec issue. It literally is an issue with the game coding. There isn't another explanation for why every bug is specifically tied to the BGM and other audio triggers not functioning normally. This wasn't happening when i played 1 either. It happens even without using turbo mode too. It is a clear game side issue.

Try the patcher I linked above. It should resolve the audio issues

How exactly do I do that? I'm not familiar with using patches or anything not directly supported through steam

1. First download SenPatcher_beta5.7z (https://github.com/AdmiralCurtiss/SenPatcher/releases/download/beta5/SenPatcher_beta5.7z)

2. Extract the files to any location

3. Open up SenPatcherGui.exe

4. Select the "Find Steam version of CS2 (English)" option

5. If the above doesn't find the game EXE, click "Manually select executable instead" and navigate to steam folder -> steamapps -> common -> Trails of Cold Steel II -> bin -> win32 and select ed8_2_PC_US.exe

6. After selecting d8_2_PC_US.exe, a window will pop up with various options that can be selected. The options that are noted as recommended are important for fixing the sound problems so keep them checked; you can choose if you want to apply the turbo mode animation skip and script fixes. When done with selecting the options, just hit the patch button at the bottom.

It simple enough, as I just downloaded it.

What is more, it also creates a backup file, don't delete that file. but use the patcher again to revert the changes if you don't like them.

I personally not had many bugs with sound, still, patched anyway, so things should be good to go.

I never experienced any of the bugs mentioned in the OP.

However, I did a experience a bug where the BGM completely stopped playing for no apparent reason. I had to re-start the game to fix it when that happened (although that's not really a 'fix' because the bug is still there). So more like I worked around it.

However, that only happened to me two or three times near the end of the game, and not during the 100+ hours I played before that point. But I'm not sure if the bug is specific to the end sections of the game, or alternatively if that just happens to be where I encountered it.

I've had a couple cutscenes pause to load new music, but only a couple times and it was very brief. I just chalked it up to the fact that I am running the game off of an external hard drive.

I found an interesting audio bug when you switch screens too much between areas with different audio tracks - this happened most obviously for me in Ymir going between the village and the mountain path frequently - if you go into one or the other and back out before the level loads and music starts then you can actually pull that music into the other area. More amusing than irritating.

I also found that I was able to execute presumably the same \ similar trick in the final fight against Testa-Rossa but on this occasion the BGM track didn't play at all and I had to fight without any music just the sound effects... kinda creepy...

I would assume that the problems I have encountered at least are due to a strong over-reliance of the turbo function in my case :P
