[Spoilers] Story summary
Lets sum up everything we saw going on in this game since Trails of Cold Steel 1 to the very end of Trails of Cold Steel 2 [tell me if I am missing something]

Class 7 was created by the 4 directors [Olivert, Rufus, Miss Rogner and Craig ?]
What was it created for really ? Osborn used Rufus against noble alliance and Class VII as well.... My guess it were in beetween power of Osborn and Olivert which is the invisible fight beetween Emperors family and Osborn faction.

Rean had too much help - his team was recued too many times, I don't think it is a coincidence, I think he was 'made to be' a hero which he in fact is not. What really is going on behind the scenes?

I get that Awakeners, War of the Lions repeats itself, etc, but really - what is the Ouroboros objective here? Why Rean ends up as decorated war hero? I did not play Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki.

Also I found its very disappointing that in Trails of Cold Steel 2 were too many easter eggs from Trails in the Sky SC. Too many naive helping out in critical situations. The game repeats itself too much.

As I liked Trails in the Sky for good storyline with good logics and politics this seem to not be the case for Trails of Cold Steel at all. Help me out here a little, please?

There are only three directors (Irina Reinford, Governor Regnitz, and Lord Rufus Albarea) and an honory chairman (Prince Olivert). Craig has nothing to do with Thor's Military Academy.

After the Liber Ark incident, Prince Olivert returned home seeking to raise the next generation with an awareness for what is going on in the country (the purposes of the field studies) as well as create an official, Erebonian affiliated organization (the Crimson Wings) that can approach the Empire's cultural divide from a balanced approach.

Rean came to Thors searching for an identity. Osborne gave him one, that of the Ashen Chevalier, hero of the Empire. By doing this, he given Rean an incentive to work for him (skip decades of climb up the ranks normally, get prestigious pay and authority immediately, able to help save lives) and has blackmailed him from doing otherwise (he has a DK; him or his family would be at risk if he refused).

We know from Trails in the Sky that Ouroboros is trying to collect the gifts from Aidios, the Sept-Terrions. It is unknown for what purpose they need them. Crossbell doesn't really touch upon this, as it doesn't explain why Vita ONLY needed to have the Ashen and Azure knights battle atop the Infernal Castle. Will more than likely be explained in CS3.

As for the last question, your YMMV with any story. My thoughts on Sky vs CS2 here:

If you want a good narrative, with logical characters with actual flaws and compelxity, why the hell you are playing a jrpg? Especially this one, which is written by a 5 year old.

Since Trails in the Sky was logical and had good narrative. Well except for Ouroboros reasons.
