As far as money goes you will have to do alot of grinding for that.I already beat this game on ps4 an i had to grind alot for money an as far as set ups go. I didnt change a thing an had no trouble beating the game.
Good Luck

My lazy pro-tip is to look through the forums for post linking a new game + save file to start with, so you can just start with a bunch of mira and sepith without worry about grindy stuff. Max bonding points too so you don't have to pick and choose bonding events.

I'm not so sure about late game setups because I'm not far in, but for the very early game so far I've had success with:
* having an action quartz for +speed for everyone
* +attack stat and status/condition quartz for physical attackers
* +ats and spell quartz for casters

More speed for more turns, and higher damage stats for bigger numbers. Not too different from Cold Steel 1 so far.

But I'm only playing on hard so you can probably do whatever and be fine, especially if you have a lot of mira/sepith to play around with.

Ok first off. When you start the game you have your sister Elise playable. I believe she can cook a recipe and sell for some profit. The profit is not as noticable as Elliots version of it from the first game but it is something. There should be a youtube video of it. Make sure you do it as soon as possible though since she will leave your party pretty soon.

Other than that its the usual. Use septer master quartz. Dragon vein etc etc... Make sure to use your S-Craft for extra sepith, the usual.

This game is probably the easiest trails game. My first run was on nightmare and aside from a few times here and there , never had any problems with anything. This game is super easy to break. And I mean SUPER EASY.

i would totally do this if i wasnt playing on ps3. im posting here since it is newer here and the board on ps3 version is dead on most websites i look at.

Don't upgrade all your party members at every opportunity, only the ones you're going to use. Sell old weapons/armor wherever possible.

As for setups, speed + delay stacking is absolutely ridiculous in this game. Bosses don't even get to take a turn if you set it up right. Combine that with stuff like 100% evasion Fie and lv5 Angel master quartz and you don't even have to try.
also another question but is there a good way to grind exp like the first one with the skull guys on the school 6th floor? i ask because i wanna level the master quartz to max and thats how i did it the first time.

The latest dungeon you are in always gives you the most XP. This is true for every trails game. Also levels don't really matter in a trails game even on nightmare mode. You don't need to level grind at all in these games, never.

in case you didn't know... don't forget the dlc tab in the item menu... the amount of item they give you at the start is ridiculous, you could build an evergreen at the start of chapter1.

Except for final boss of CS1 nightmare if you didnt carry over levels.
If you arent at least a specific level you just cant hurt him enough before you die.
Not that much of a grind anyway then ofc.
thanks for the help but i mostly asked because in the firs game there was that group of skull enemies that always had 8 enemies so millium with force could kill them immediately and get her s break back and give you a good amount of exp for the master quartz is that possible in the final dungeon? also what are some good quartz setups for rean? in the first game i built him up as a damage dealer with vermilion to self heal is that master quartz still in the game and is it as good?

All quartz that where in the first game are in the second.
Some has been rebalanced tough.
Like Reans starter quarts doesnt give that much cp on kill any more.

Yep. Vermillion's still busted. Other ridiculous MQs are Pandora, Raven (since they added delay to it), Moebius, Angel, and Tauros. Your strategy with Millium is really dumb with Tauros, since she gets a 1.5x damage boost to an extremely powerful S-Craft. Stack a bunch of sources of STR on her along with it and you can just vaporize bosses.

Good quartz setups for Rean are usually those that revolve around speed and delay stacking, because of the ridiculous delay mechanics in the Cold Steel games.
one last question would be i just got Sharon on my team and without spoiling too much i wanted to know will Toval Claire and Sharon remain playable the rest of the game? i ask because i enjoy using them and like the options they allow. i assume they won't if only because thats a lot of party members that you can use but i hope i am wrong.

No. Toval, Claire, and Sharon will not remain playable for the rest of the game.

Never remove Alisa from your party, she helps A LOT, giving your party cp and keeping them healed, also you can farm money easily with Emma, just get the quartz to improve cooking in an Ymir side quest then just make tons of tri-colored onigiri.
