Does the game in any way ship Patiry with Machias??

I honestly skipped some dialogue with Patiry in the last game, but it seems to me there were subtle ways the game was shipping these two together. And since Machias clearly isn't interested in any of the Class 7 girls, romantically speaking (or maybe he is interested but Rean keeps hogging all the booty for himself), and these two have a shared hstory together, I was wondering if there was any missable dialgoue that indicated a ship?

I'm not usually a shipping person or anything, I'm just curious since I neglected Patiry in the first game, and I jjust thought about this when I found it weirdly enough she has a sidequest dedicated to her out of all the other obscure NPC's, aside from the Thor academy students. Did the japanese fanbase like her enough to capture Falcom's attention, so they made one brief sidequest about her? I maybe am misunderstanding this as a romantic development between her and Machias, which is why I ask.

Though Machias, along with Jusis, is among my favorite of the male characters, so maybe I just want to see my favorite four eyes get laid for once after having Rean steal all the cutest girls from him???

In the previous game Patiry just gets mad at Machias because he kept telling her to not do stupid things that seems tought but really aren't. So Patiry keeps calling Machias a nerd and that she'll beat him up if he gets in the way of her "scheams" in which Machias just really doesn't care about any of her threats because she's all bark and no bite.

As for why you're so bent up over this I can see why since you skipped that dialoug in the 1st game. But there's not much to go off of, I think Patiry was just worried her favorite nerd that tries to keep her out of trouble (even though he doesn't try very hard) was being hunted down bu the Noble Alliance

Ah I see, I was just a little curious. I was curious because all the romantic stuff is exclusive to Rean, so I was somewhat excited to see my favorite male get some action. Too bad though. Even Jusis and Millium have something going on, even if it's played mostly for comedy. Just give Machias something at least Falcom. Oh well. Thanks for answering.

I wouldn't say romance is exclusive to Rean, there's Alan & Bridget and Vincent & Margerita, to mention a few :p Though looking at Class VII, I guess there's not much love for the rest of the guys.

But as far as Patiry goes, I could've sworn someone said something to indicate her attitude was in part something she did due to an interest in Machias, or am I just imagining things?

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I vaguely rememebe skimping through some dialogue that pointed towards possible romatic feelings Patiry might have for Machias. But again, I ddin't pay attention too closely.

And yeah I actually enjoyed Alan and Bridget's romantic subplot. I'm a sucker for that "commoner wants to impress beautiful noble girl" type of trope. As for Vincent and Margertia, felt more like impending murder that could take place at any moment.

I don't recall any romantic indications for that pairing. At most, Patiry works very hard to hide the fact that she cares about Machias's well-being because she's a godawful tsundere who never gets to the dere. She never indicates a desire to be with him or an interest in him as a unique individual.

Patiry's main scene is a sidequest in which she accuses a local of kidnapping the kid she escaped Heimdallr with because he didn't arrive at the town she said to head to - because the kid read the map wrong and travelled in the opposite direction. Then she decides that the public foot baths are some sort of elaborate trap.

Machias' role in all this is basically yelling "will you please calm down for a moment so I can explain what's going on here?"

In fairness, she does spend the Academy Festival running around looking for Machias in order to punch him in the face. To some anime fans, that's practically a love confession.

hehehe, funny one. Well, tbh the game just pushes all the guys away that aren't Gaius and Elliot (So I guess just Machias and Jusis) and tries to bring all the girls to the front for attention. Since Jusis just got on my nerves and Machias disappeared after Act 1- Part 1.

Its not like girls get any better threatment. Either rean shows interest in them or they take celibacy vows.
