Help with the stupid ape (Legram)

Is there any conceivable way to beat this stupid mini boss? I'm on normal with rean, toval, laura, elliot, machias and emma. Which ever line up I choose to go with, I still cant seem to even get this guy down below 50& without him healing for more than i can deal. Do i actually have to go back and choose an evasion tank? I really want to see if anyone did this without one and without restarting on an easier level.

Technically I didn't have evasive tank by that time. But I had Alisa with me.

I recommend spamming AT Delay.

AT delay doesn’t seem to work, unless I should be using autumn leaf cutter instead of arc slash. Are there any specific rates that I could obtain in town that I would need? Also I mentioned the 6 chars above so I wouldn’t know of any good combination other than trying to keep def up with Elliot and Emma but he still one shots through it

In my opinion this not a very good team for that kind of battle. Try this.

The most effective way of killing this boss is to rely on flame type arts. It does the most amount of damage without using Crafts. You can also use Overdrive for instant magic cast. Once you take out about half of the boss' HP, you can have your party spam their S-Craft before the boss has a chance to heal itself from it's buff.

Best way to win him for me was having an evade tank with insight on that is Fie and Rean and then spam delay crafts with both of them(yes bosses have high resist to this but the Times when it goes through those resistance are golden and lifesaving) and chrono drive so that my team will always be faster than the guy.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that if you don't know insight gives 50% evasion which is already enough for you to survive most boss fights with Imo.

I had Laura decked out in whatever STR increasing ♥♥♥♥ I could find at the time and S crafted whenever I could, then switched her out for Laura and dumped whatever the strongest Fire art I could find. Alisa was there for heavenly gift and blessed arrow for craft points.. Was using Rean and Fie for their impede for extra insurance.

Also it helps to have Faint resistant gear.

Remind me if i am wrong, by wasn't that guy weak to Fire? I remember Criminal Emma-ing him

What worked for me (started on nightmare, non NG+):


Fie at the front with evasion/defense/fortuna/10% ADF debuff. She also had a 20% damage reduction MQ

Clair/Emma/Alisa spread in the back all with flame tongue
Emma with Criminal MQ

Every party member Citrus Bottle + Proxy puppet

At the start Fie + Alisa cast Fortuna
Clair shining on Fie

A bunch of Flame tongues later the boss tried to use an area attack but got impeded by Rean who I quickly switch with Alisa and back to her again. A couple turns later he did hit my spellcasters with an area atatck, but proxy puppets saved them and a couple turns after I deemed his HP close enough to burst him with overdtive between emma/rean. Emma did double flame tongue, rean La Forte and then I did 3 S-Arts for the win.

Double buff with fotuna makes emma's flame tongue do 15k+ damage even on nightmare and everyone else's ~10k so I easily outdamaged his stupid heal. Didn't get to debuff his speed tho - even when I tried it with Fie she always failed so I just had to deal with his stupid speed:(

Laugh.... Fei owned him. I had her build. Cp 60 plus per round. AT attack and her high evasion 85%
