How does global rank work?

At first I thought it was just a running score. But my rank got WORSE after a round where I lost immediately. So there's some way your rank can drop.

Anyone know how it's calculated?

I had thought that it was just a running score myself. Maybe when you dropped it was just that other players near your ranking had moved up which would push you down?

Possible, but seems pretty unlikely that it would change that quickly, especially with how few players there are now.

I died in a game today with zero kills and my rank went down one place. Maybe there is some penalty on rank for this?

That's it! Being killed from the beginning with no kill will drop you by one or two places.
