Sure it's an exaggeration but really does it matter how much hp it does when the point still stands: Why is there no way to get out of a long combo if neither support is up and you have no way to charge the support cuz you cant do damage cuz you're trapped in a long ass combo
if you, or your opponent, could just break the combo everytime, then there'd be no incentive to use/practice extensive combos b/c your opponent is just gonna support out of it. im not saying you should just deal with it, but a good portion of the time you're stuck in a combo because you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up or you got outplayed, one just has to learn appropriate support use/timing.
this would only be unfair if your opponent was the only one that could use long combos (which ofc isn't the case). if you practice your combos enough (like they have), then you can be dishing out the same damage to them.
I'm not saying it should be up every time, where I take issue with it is when someone uses a support, yours isn't up (or vice versa) and then starts a long combo. Your supports still arent up, then at the end of the combo their supports are up again. How is that in any way fair when someone just traps you in a combo right from the get go? I don't see why we couldnt have a naruto style 4 substitution jutsus (but on a longer cooldown or less at a time) just to give people a chance when they get trapped in a long ass combo.
If you're playing well against your opponent, you shouldn't find yourself at the mercy of how long they can extend their combos. They have to drop their combo at some point. How you use that window of opportunity will determine whether you end up continually getting combo'd. You still have a chance to get your supports up and to combo your opponent. It's frustrating, but that's how the game works. You have to adapt to it to be successful.
As long as this game has support characters who can do it, then I don't care how long the meter takes to recharge the use of Sidekicks, I'm perfectly content. It also helps that it's an actual 3D arena fighter, that's what messed me up the most.
I had this happen in mission that a npc got a hit once and started a combo that simply took 1/3 of my bar.
Don't get me wrong, i love the game. But this way of combos and not being able to get out of them unless u have supports who can do that is pretty "old fashioned"...... specialy frustrating against characters like todoroki or dabi which can even lock you into into infinites while even hitting your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ supports when u use them to get out of it......
my problem is that the game is that it's unforgiving af..... i mean a good kyoka can lock you pretty hard while dodging and hitting supports (i "main" her sort of)....
if you could like dodge out of combos 2-3 times at some point cause of attack delays in between OR a kinda system like in naruto ultimate series.....
sure there should be times in which u can't break it, else they are useless to begin with but when u are low on life and somebody get a single hin in to start a combo, meaning u can actually put down the controller and go use th bathroom cause u can't do anything about is just freaking stupid in my opinion
i even own and play plenty of the 2D fighting games like blaz blue, koihime or even blade arcus..... these are skilled cause can't buttom mash and need to be able to do the combos properly yourself, but when u can button mash to have a full sized combo out of 1 hit
so beats me..... its fun but at the same time i have to say its mechanics are not well made, considering the fact that they were able to give every character good fighting style, but seeing how well made the naruto ultimate series is (even on animation level like compare naruto ultimate "ultimates" and the one here...just animation wise) and how fluent while also being competitive the fighting mechanics are..... it's just sad that the mevchs in this game are at maximum average
