It also helps to create your own server to provide updates and news there too. Just recently devs of one RTS in development came in that server and announced the game, providing links to websites and Discord - and the interest and discussion sparked instantly. Maybe get some attention of RTS streamers, blogers, youtubers or just content creators that cover old school games, like GamerZakh, GamingHD, Wayward Strategy etc.
Thing is, this game is quite obscure - SoW is at least remembered a little, but SoW2 is barely even known by people. And most RTS players tend to focus on a few favorite games and 1v1 multiplayer. But I still wish you luck, these games deserve to be remembered and get re-released successfully.
After class in primary school me and a friend used to play this a lot together (not even multiplayer, just 2 kids plying n 1 PC, taking turns), at the time we were too stupid to even know how to save the game, so we'd constantly beat one or 2 levels, close the game and repeat the next time we played.
A while ago I found my old CD for this game and wanted to try it, since I don't have an optical drive on my PC, I cracked it just to try it out again for a bit, but it wasn't quite working.
Fast forward to yesterday when me and a friend were talking about old game we used to play and I remembered this game existed, I decided to do a quick google search for it, so I could link him a video of how it looked and lo and behold, it's on steam.
Thanks you for letting me play my favorite childhood game again, instant buy for me.
Getting more people to be interested in this game might be challenging tho, the only way I see more people finding out a bout it is if the current players start telling people about it, but even then, if someone isn't nostalgic about it, just the cover and title screen might turn people away.
Reach out to content creators such as youtubers and streamers, sponsor them to play the game and I guarantee that your sales will increase!
