How to mimic artstyle (for mods)?
I want to make a mod for this game, including custom art, but I'm a bit unsure of how to best go about it. Some parts of the game's art assets suggest the art was made as pixelart, but other parts of it make it seem like it was made with brushes rather than pixel-precise stuff.

Given the comparisons people make to Rimworld's artstyle, I decided to see what people recommend for mimicing that game's art for mods, and while I'm now more confused than ever at those comparisons (Parasytors, for example, seem about as far as you can go from Rimworld's artstyle while still being blobby outlined cartoon figures), the advice I found, to use airbrush effects, seems to get me closer to Keplerth's style than I managed otherwise, but it still feels like I'm missing some fairly fundamental trick to accomplish the way parts of it do look very clean, crisp and well-defined (e.g. the darker gaps between the various flesh-blobs in Parasytor sprites).

Any thoughts on what I might be missing here?

i have zero dev / mod knowledge but rimworld has thousands of mods. i presume atleast one of those have a discord where they hang out together. it might be worth asking on there and being invited to there conversations. i dont think this is helpful but it could lead to a better answer for your self then i can provide

I've already found a fairly decent guide on how to make Rimworld-style sprites (which is where I got the advice for using airbrush brushes), and I don't need help with the modding part of things: I'm mostly asking for advice on how to recreate some of the specific hallmarks of Keplerth's artstyle, like the high level of detail found on Parasytor sprites, which are a bit difficult to recreate using airbrushes.
