This this game finished?
I was wondering as it said it was not EA, however most play time for this game is 10 hours...
I hope that I am missing something, more content coming?

True the general playtime is kinda short for this type of game. Could use more content or some incentive to replay the game on a new character.
Btw the roadmap is added in those update announcement which mentions they're planning more dungeons, weapons, events, functional npc, etc which i'm looking forward to a lot.

At this moment, 40 hours + required ton finish a first time, can be far more by taking time. ( explo, base building, crafting ... )
Every thing is quite finished, yes, just a functionnality that is not finished, pnj we invite in base do nothing apart gving monyey.
It seems they should do more, fighting at least but it's blocked by dev cause bugs.
No more new on that.

idk 40 hours? that doesn't seem like a lot, and a lot of people only have 10-15 some 20.... clearly you are mistaken.. this game needs more content
>person who owns the game is clearly wrong about the length of the game because reasons
>person who doesn't own the game is clearly right despite having no earthly clue

This thread made me laugh.

>did his research before posting

This thread made me laugh.

This is why achievement hunting is a thing. Anyone can sit there and screw around, rush the main story. Go thru and do all the extra little :shit: then report back.
100% or nothing.
There is already a thread discussing about the playtime and i dont see why that part is important to determine if a game if 'finished' or not.

Well, have the devs made a road map? are they any updates coming? DLC? anything?
I think that is the better questions. I guess the game is "finished" but I see VERY little playtime on this game... which is scary lol

im on my first playthough and im not super far in and i have about 10 hours. i think saying 20 plus hours is reasonable. would it be better if there was more in the game? sure of course. thats basically every game ever made. its well worth the price tag and i can see myself getting at least 50 hours of fun in this game. thats like 30 somethings cents an hour worst case scenario. not an unfair price for what you get, terraria has been improved for a decade and starbound had a fair amount of time put into it at well. this game is in an appropriate place considering the team size and time. please stop being entitled.

alright, time for my unasked for opinion because i came back to see if anything was new and found this discussion. Preface, I have only played this game solo. If played with a group of friends It's going to be a relatively shorter game as far as progression goes because the working formula here is 'collection = progression.'

I have 49.7 hours in the game. 40 of which are before using mods. There's definitely a good game foundation here, but if you start the game using mods I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice because then you can basically strip the game down to an easily overpowered and short experience that would match the 10 to 15 hour time mark a lot of folks are mentioning. My last 9 or so hours were spent in that way on a new character just to see what the effects of mods on the core gameplay loop would be. As far as content completion goes, I completed everything on both characters EXCEPT for the FINAL final boss, and i don't care if it makes me a weenie, I ain't wasting my finite time on trying to beat that with or without mods lol.

I have a lot more hours in my time at portia, and would put many more, but all games come to an "end" when they don't have good re-play ability
TheWayMan Jul 24, 2022 @ 5:40pm
Maybe they will make a big update, or just make a new game or something that gives it more content/ replay ability

even without mods its a overpowered and short experience. We messed around wiht making a small village and theres is almsot no benefit to doing so. The money you get is so small its laughable. The game feels half finished at best. Theres very few mechanics to boss fights and you can skip many of the features with no problem.

We just came from playing Necesse and that is a much better example of the town builder, with action fighting genre. This game feels like its just trying to ride on the success of rimworld and forgot it needed real substance.
