Vs. bosses, however, some sort of hp/shield sustain and serious defense is needed. The key to making a boss surviving replica is to place the protection node that gives boss damage reduction on a 2x slot, so you start out with 50% damage reduction vs bosses and +!50 health, baseline. At that point you can decide if you want to leech with melee damage, or tank with regenerating ion shield, while mixing in some evasion. The max defense + damage reduction type of armors seem to be the best for replica survival in the face of bullet hell spam. You can reroll for evasion set to maximize their uptime.
Squeezing serious damage out of your guy while still being tough enough to face tank the hardest hitters is a challenge, so you will need to pick the most broken weapon possible. I made a Replica that used HP leech from melee damage, combined with a Fine chainsaw with +damage +% damage +defense penetration and it was giving about 30 health leech a second, which was more than enough to keep him up even against the final boss (except for a certain point blank AOE move in a certain phase.).
I meant to try a full reflect build, but gathering the parts became tedious and had a lot of RNG factors, so its gone by the wayside for now. It's kind of weird since you need to take enough damage to do serious damage, but also somehow get your health back up after taking that damage. Still piecing it together.
It face tanks divil with a chainsaw for about 2/3 of the fight without me doing anything.
I'm running every evasion gene except the alpha one (6/6 plus the symptom), full coverage and ion skin (first and last from that set) and precise strike (melee weapon ignore 20% defence), with a second fine chainsaw.
A full reflect build is basically a bomb on a timer, when the replica comes online it instantly dies and deals a ton of damage but the replica is basically aways recovering.
