They keep saying that they will make an offline mode when the servers shut down but insisting that the servers will remain up for the foreseeable future. To answer your question...Maybe but not right now. Currently its only online.

Believe-it-when-I-see-it scenario. The fact that they're giving up on developing their MMOlite either shows financial instability severe enough to where I doubt they could follow through on an offline mode, OR a total lack of care/ commitment. It's a bad sign either way.

Nope it's actually simpler than that, it's the fact they never made a proper base code for the game to allow indefinite updates and it was visible, every event something would break, every update something would break and it only got worse over time so imo it was a good call from them to just wrap it up after finishing all the kick starter goals and just stick to maintenance mode while focusing on newer titles.

Yes many of us wanted/expected it to be a tamer mmo but it didn't end up being one, that's that and no point in beating the topic forever.

On the plus side they did learn a lot from this experience which may hopefully end up with an actual mmo/mmolite down the road. (Hint: They are working on another project that isn't Swarm and on a new engine which allows better group play but that's as far as they're willing to talk about it afaik).

So no it will NEVER be offline and when it goes offline the game goes so too

Its pretty sad its not offline, i would be happy to play it on my deck on my job when im free, and since over here, internet access is not easy and theres no places for "free" internet neither access to it.

It is an online game, with online features that involve coop, it'll take them quite some time to redo most of the code to make it a single player game and atm not only do they have no plans to take down the servers but are also busy with 2 other games.

Offline mode would be great :D and this game is strange exiting from main menu some random growling noise and a slow awkward fade to black hahahah might as well just alt f4 with that it seems :D

THIS and *it's the game gets crazy with posts like this, and the exit button on main menu awkward fade to black with growling noises lol, it's strange what happened to this game hahaha :D
