Worth jumping into?
What the title says. What MMO aspects does this game actually have? End game?

Long campaign, a lot of tems to capture/breed/train, end game lairs, refights with dojo masters, pvp, weekly missions etc. Is it worth it? Yes.

the only real mmo feature is the global chat and the fact that you can do lairs (like a dungeon with multiple people). Its more of a single player/coop game than an mmo.

End game is up to you, most ppl focus on sticker book, pokedex, training for competitive, breeding, safari etc. If you want to get involved in pvp to any actual serious degree you got ALOT of work to do in attempting to catchup or even have a chance.

Its not a real good example of an mmo but its fun if youve got time to grind, but all the fun happens post campaign. This is, of course, my opinion. Don't be alarmed by the rabid fans who act like it's a 10/10 and perfect.

if you already like pokemon and have time to sink, go ahead you'll enjoy it.

The only MMO part in my opinion is the economy and even there it's fairly barebones if you don't like the trading house or using external means to trade (discord and so on).

I would play Temtem as a mostly single-player games where you sometimes happen to play with other people rather than as a MMO.

i don't know what people expected from an online monster tamer but i think this game is great and the best monster tamer with online play as well. As for mmo content, there's ranked comp for pvp and raid's for group content. The whole campaign can even be played through with a friend in co op. Again, idk what else people expected from an mmo monster tamer? you can openly run around the world and see/chat with other players, trade or duel them etc. Its great and worth the money.

The grind in the game is a nightmare. MMO aspects end at global chat, auction houses and dungeons.

I repeat... the grind is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare.

The MMO aspect is flimsy at best, but even so the game is still quite enjoyable either by yourself or running through the story with a friend.

Personally I enjoy several aspects of this game more than Pokemon. The battles feel a fair bit more strategic thanks to the way the priority and stamina systems are handled. By no means are they complicated, but compared to how brain dead simple the mechanics of battles are in Pokemon it's like rocket science in comparison and I appreciate it.

As for people complaining about the grinding... really? Grinding in an MMO or in a battle monster/tamer style game? Gee, I wonder how many other games of those genres are like that. Oh what's that? All of them are, you say? Thought so.

There's a lot of backtracking. You're gonna have money problems early on, there are no repels like Pokemon. There are random encounters like old Pokemon games.

So yeah. For me personally the tedium had outweighed the fun.

I stopped at Island 2 cause I want to replace team members for better ones but training them up is a pain.

Maybe I'll come back to it... but the tedium is punishing at the start.

It has all the worst parts of MMOs and none of the good, pointless padding, tons of backtracking, chocking your resources on purpose, and stuff designed to waste your time with nothing productive.

Wtf are you talking about, there are repels exactly like Pokemon. Also the mount is a permanent repel.

No mount during the first island, scents only have a chance to prevent wild encounters.

Let me guess, you've been end game for ages?

I always gone back to heal after my phial ran out to save money, it was not hard and didn't have to use my repels either, not sure why others find it hard but wild temtem are fine long as you actually switch to tem that can deal with it!

Sounds to me many struggle on certain islands cause they refuse to switch or catch a tem on that island which can deal with their issues, I had to level my mushi finally on 4th due to my mental having issues getting past and it was a breeze,

People need to stop treating this as 100% pokemon difficulty, you are meant to change and finally think where you need to, not power through with the same 3-4 temtem

The game can be quite harsh for new players who isn't familiar with the genre especially with the horrible learning curve. But if you're willing to struggle through it and/or fan of the genre then you might enjoy it.
Ceriss Sep 22, 2022 @ 5:42am
It has nothing to do with difficulty. Walking back and having time wasted by unnecessary ubtamed Tem battles is annoying.

This is why RPGs largely have moved away from random battles, they're annoying.

Please stop misrepresenting the argument.

Tedium and time wasting=\=difficulty.

To give perspective, the only battle that I lost was rhe first Max fight.

All other battles were beaten with at least 4 Tem in good health.
