Does this game ever go on sale

Im a huge pokemon fan and funds are quite tight for me I was wondering if this game ever goes on sale it looks extremely fun

it was cheaper before 1.0 they did reccomend if you wanted the "sale" price it was best to buy in prior updates. which is how they set its business model

A lot of early access games do this to get money early on for supporting the game and then set their final price when the game goes live as it's the full game at that point.

Since the publisher is Humble i would bet it will be in a humble choice package in a year or 2.

Well it's the advantage of the Early Access, they get funds for develop the game and you can start testing it and having for a cheaper price.
