Im glad you enjoy the game and it doesnt bother you, Good im glad and i hope you enjoy your purchase, These kind of things are a deal breaker for me. hard to escape reality into a game when the foundations of the game are based on political agenda.
Melee is strong against Crystal and weak to Mental
Crystal is strong against Mental and weak to Melee
Mental is strong against Melee and weak to Crystal
Temtem has a learning curve for sure but that's something I love about it Pokemon never felt deep and even if something was strong against me I generally didn't need to change because I could stomp everything in the game effortlessly due to it having a very easy difficulty.
Temtem constantly challenges you and that is a great thing for people who want that rewarding feeling you get when you master a game rather than spam the same button because your main attack is good enough for 90% of the game.
It is just an added layer of customization which I argue there should always be more of rather than less.
Some RPG let me customize my eye brows and forehead shape/size, I don't care about these options but it doesn't mean they should be taken out just because I personally don't want it in the game pushing the forehead agenda.
I think Temtem just isn't the game for you and that's fine maybe one day someone will make your dream monster collecting game that doesn't let people select pronouns and has a very easy difficulty.
To me the challenge of pokemon was never the story, it was online battles and competitive battles. Always felt to me (Bar gen 1 and 2) That was the direction in which the game was headed, reasons why sites like smogon and Showdown exist is to help you make teams for that setting, thats where to me the challenge lies.
Temtem on the other hand is the same thing which so far seems to show that the challenge is in the main story and whilst i can see competitive battles being more appealing i cant see them holding ground, just like competitive doubles isnt really a big scene in pokemon, its already a challenge enough keeping track of typings move sets natures aswell as combo's and switch ins without having to worry about a resource. and whilst PP could be comparable, it never causes your pokemon to hurt itself unless you deplete it all which is very unlikely to ever happen in an actual battle ( If you arent able to deal with a wall and are getting stalled to death then you need to rethink your team comp) the learning curve seems more focused on using that resource as an extra layer of difficulty. the typings are essentially the same with different names, So atleast to me thats where the curve starts, And no i never had any of those messages, So maybe thats on me for either not noticing or they werent there, likely i didnt notice but that was never explained, And yeah you could make the argument that you play and learn but it doesnt feel good to me personally or to a few other people i tried the game with.
I wouldnt know but if the resource meter (Exhaustion bar?) gets bigger the more your tem tem levels then great! it becomes easier to manage, but it seems odd at the start.
"I think Temtem just isn't the game for you and that's fine maybe one day someone will make your dream monster collecting game that doesn't let people select pronouns and has a very easy difficulty"
You just went from someone i was enjoying having a discussion with to Irrelevant, you had good arguments and counter points why go ahead switch it around on yourself? just because i didnt understand something doesnt mean i want a very easy monster collecting game, if that was what i was after i wouldnt spend my time playing pokemon competitively. Thanks for your actual opinions and counterpoints it got me to see a different perspective on the game but i can already see theres no point going further. Have a good one.
I want games to have a challenging story where my ability to learn and master mechanics are rewarded.
When I reach the end of a game and NPC keep telling me how great I am I want to feel that I earned it, I hate getting to that point and feeling like I should reply with "It was nothing I just kept pressing one button and won every battle"
For me personally I have loved the stamina system from my very first battle.
Stamina feels like a much more balanced system where using a super powerful move has consequences, I can't just use my most powerful move over and over until I won the battle then go heal up to do it again.
If I choose to use my most powerful ability I might not have enough stamina to do anything else without recovering so using a move that is a little weaker is actually viable instead of useless.
The exhaustion messages are definitely there, I would need to find a video of a temtem battle and find a moment where someone does it as the servers are not up right now so I can't just screenshot it (I might do this sometime but I don't want to do it right at this moment).

Specifically at the 1min mark they mention an end game area but there is no other info on it yet.
As far as we know, the studio promissed:
- A battle frontier thing.
- Arcade bar with mingiames.
- Competitive ladder system (this feature maybe won't require breeding appaarently)
- Weekly tournaments.
- Guild battles to conquer Dojos.
Perhaps I should have used the words "easier difficulty" rather than "very easy difficulty" so for that I do apologize what I was trying to say is perhaps this just isn't what you have been searching for/waiting for and there is nothing wrong with that.
I just get a bit short tempered when people want things removed from a game because they don't agree with them as I feel developers should create the game they dreamed of and if that appeals to people great and if it doesn't that's fine too.
If someone wants to sell burgers made with dirt patties I support their decision regardless of how well it will sell because it is what they wanted to do, Give advice and feedback but telling people what they can and can't put into their product isn't something I agree with as they did not create it.
Even if you wanted a super duper easy game there is nothing wrong with that.
I want an extremely challenging game but that does not make me any better than anyone else it is just personal preference and there is nothing wrong with having those.
I also have casual games that I love and they are extremely easy to play but I still love them when I am in that kind of mood, The difficulty people desire from games will always vary and there's nothing wrong with having a preference for a genre regardless of what it is.
