Pansun Grind

I'm about to leave the second island and was looking at doing some dress up on my character. As we all know cosmetics cost a small fortune (More than house furniture oddly enough). At this point my only source of income is Freetem but it hardly pays out for the amount of time effort. Does the grind get any better later on or is this the kind of end game I'm looking at?

There will be quite a few more options for pansun farming once you progress further in the story. You are only on the second island after all. Whole lot you can find in 3 more. ;P

Namely, Dojo rematches (<-- best one), Koish fishing, daily deliveries, competitive matchmaking, and mythical lairs. These'll all be daily/weekly things you can also do to grind out some extra goodies.

I have 340k Pansuns right now (mainly from Freetem and simply playing the game) and while I do want to dress up my character, I am just saving until I see how things change or stick. The next island should give a better look at what direction this may take.

That said, I have spent every Wishing Well Coin earned in Brical de Mar's well and finally got an open shirt - https://temtem.fandom.com/wiki/Open_Shirt - so this will keep me happy for a while.

Early game you shouldn't worry about getting cosmetics, yes it will be nice but ... if you save your money through your play through you can afford to get decent enough tems to be able to do rematches and earn even more money per week. Then once you can do rematches and do freetem per week then you'll have more than enough to get cosmetics and anything else you'd like to have.

Hopefully they change the clothing prices back to the original price, the new prices are extortion

The "original price" some refer to was a cheap price during the alpha because there was no way to make Pansuns and wasn't going to be any + Alpha was going to get wiped anyway so it did not matter. Players were given a huge amount of Pansuns and allowed to just do stuff, but they couldn't make more so if/when they ran out, they ran out.

The prices aren't getting changed back.

it really upsets me how expensive cosmetic items are. when i play games with customization options, i expect the games to actually give me options through my gaming experience. what the heck is the point of cosmetics late game? when i have already spent hours and hours and hours into the game in the same dang outfit? really i do NOT understand the mindset of cosmetics should be late game goals. NO they shouldnt be. cosmetics are something we should be able to change throughout our gaming experience. otherwise what is the point lol .

i just started playing the game again but this aspect really turns me off. i want clothing items to be obtainable but i have like 600 pansuns?? and open shirt is like 24.5k why lol WHY

The grind is a huge problem and one you'll be seeing at the current "end-game" if you choose to stay on.

Cosmetics are simply too expensive nomatter how you look at it. Like I make around 10k pansuns an hour if I go crazy at it. Single outfit piece is like what... 29k? That means I've wasted 3 hours of my life for a single piece of gear. At that poiint fashion isn't a endgame thing, it's simply artificial time gating.

You already have to make money for other things. Like maybe you want a certain luma, but it won't appear? Maybe you want to buy competitive temtems? Maybe you simply want to buy breedstock so you can make your own competitive temtem or potentially breed lumas with your existing ones.

This puts fashion rather low on the list for me and I still have to keep looking at the same base outfit I started with and it's simply boring. Sometimes you just want to change up your character a bit. A more reasonable price would definitely be more in the range of 6k-10k pansuns.

I forgot about the Koish fishing, hhhhmmm I have to see how exciting and worth it is my time.
I think I unlocked the lairs, anything special that I needed for that? i forgot about it.

I just started to somewhat raise a few good Tem in order to actually earn some money from the rematches.

I would kinda agree with the time wasting, but I was bored this week.

The money grind is real bad..
rewards don't scale you get from fighting npc. i sort of expected the first island to pay low. put every match pays low. currently doing mission after getting skates back and you have a tough battle and get handed a very min sum of funds.
OO you think, ill better my team by breading. to isolate the stats you want your looking at 1000 to 5000 in cost.
Freetem has its usefulness while looking for tems with stats you can get paid to free unwanted tems but again i found the costs low. Not saying it should be easy but you can easy spend 50k just getting yourself balms and revives so you can stay out in the field longer then keep smoke bombing back to a centre.. then there 500 for quick travel costs..
Temtem definitely has huge potential but holds itself back alot with some mindless grinds for the sake of grinding eg only leveling 3 at a time and then there grinding your TV,s i guess TV training is important if you want to do more competitive things.
Sorry got off track.. Anyway personally the economy they have set up is like a pawn shop. they take in. but then mark up the price by 200%.

I have a strong opinion that they messed up the cosmetic pricing in the worst way possible. They place a single, usually ugly, item that is reasonably priced in each shop then everything else is thousands upon thousands of pansun's. I know this isn't pokemon but they should take a page from their book and make a tier of costs. The first island should have all the cheap stuff 2nd should be more expensive, maybe some grind needed, keep going until you have very high value items that require a lot of effort to get. Nope, cosmetics are pointless until endgame with a butt load of hours.

I really notice it again too once I started to breed a bit because I was bored. I was kinda schocked about the little amount of pansuns I got from two kinda high level TemTem.

I don't think I like the other money options so much more, especially since I'm only starting to get a team that has a better chance with the rematches.

How good are the Hotfix items? They sound like you could mostly use them once or twice anyway. I'm curious if I could sell them but don't want to because I don't think you can get anything easily here.
