I tried it myself. Traded 70k to a friend and half of my owned temtem, neither of us are banned.
Take what you've said on this thread for example. HOW do these people know they were banned for playing co-op? The answer is they don't, they have no way of knowing. So I don't really understand why you take that at face value.
Also devs have already answered this question several time and the answer is always the same. Tl.dr They review the bans and make sure they are legit. They don't give evidence so that cheaters don't learn how to go around it
Edit. Also I just checked the comment in question. How does he know that's the reason he got banned if he played over 40 hours? What he speaks of could only have happened during the first hours in the game. I feel like he's not being honest
Every year it has become easier and easier for players to cheat at games unless the developers have a good anti-cheat system and successful ban them.
You know what most cheaters do when they get caught? They get another account and try to do it again without being caught.
While doing this they make posts an awful lot like yours claiming they were falsely banned. Especially the ones that actually paid for cheat software to cheat at the game. Those players are the most angry because they paid for it and then got caught so they lash out saying they were innocent "bla bla bla"
The bottom line is US PLAYERS THAT DON'T CHEAT look at them and know they cheated and they just MAD
Plus, you don't even own the game. Who are you to be judging stuff that goes on anyway? The devs have addressed all of this ages ago. There's nothing stopping people from lying and leaving a bad review.
Everyone in this thread has the right to their own opinion but from someone who has had this game on their wishlist for over a year at this point this is what's keeping me from buying it. Not only is there really no way for me to tell whats going on as there's is no concrete info. But if I were to get this game and get banned for some reason, NOBODY would believe me and everyone would just think i'm some hacker piece of ♥♥♥♥. No matter what anyone says until the devs clear this up with like a reason you can get banned list or something, this game is a gamble, and 40$ is too much for a gamble that's also in Early Access. There simply just needs to be a list of reasons you can get banned, and a community manager that can talk to people about it or something. Because they say they don't give reasons for bans to keep hackers out of the loop or something but literally no other game does that it makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense, especially when the things you can get banned for are zero tolerance. Idk I just know that they are at least losing two sales from me I can't be the only one.
They did:

In particular:
OK thank you! They just need to post this on the damn store page because literally every time I've checked in the last year, the top review has always been "oh I got banned for no reason." which is not normal, I haven't seen that problem constantly at the top of a review page for a game ever out of the 100+ something games I have on here. This would almost completely stop this kind of thread happening if they just posted that on the top of their storepage or something christ.
First big ban wave was for people using a small patch of grass to glitch into an upper path and get access to a creature that was not supposed to be accessible yet and then trying to sell said creature either for big money ingame or irl money. Other people also got banned for trying to sell the early luma catches or perfect SV creatures for real money which is expressly forbidden. Later on people got banned for using an exploit to get a lot of money ingame. Every time this happened you'd see people come into the forum or write negative reviews about how they got banned for no reason or even worse lying that they got banned for playing the game too long or playing in co-op.
Look at any online game and you will see plenty of people complaining that they got banned unfairly. The only thing i think Crema is doing wrong is the fact that they seem to outright permaban. They should, imho, do what any MMO does and on the first offence delete the thing you cheated to get and give you a temporary ban. Perm should only happen for repeated offences. At the same time that would require them hiring a proper team of GMs to look at every case and take appropriate measures, which they may or may not be something they're willing to do while still in early access. Long term tho this needs to change.
