Why the price increase?
I don't know if maybe something was mentioned about the price going up during EA, but I saw it for 35 USD and I looked today and saw it's at 37.49 USD and I'm wondering what was the point.

Okay, I was just curious. Thank you about that.

"big update"

It shouldn't be a surprise:

"As we already announced on our twitter and previously in the Early Access release, Temtem’s price is going to be increased with this new patch. The game price will increase from $35 to $37.5.

Temtem’s price will keep increasing with each big patch (aka new island) we release."

Yeah? It took me 11 Hours to complete the content of the Update, thats quite big in my eyes. If you skip all the dialoge, of course it wouldn't be as big in your eyes since that would cut the content by quite alot.

i know this is a dead thread but i think increasing the price every content update is foolish and will contribute to this game's probably dwindling community

Yet the increase was not hidden away and actually stated in the FAQ that this would happen. Many Early Access games have gone down this route; backers get a discounted price versus those who purchase this at release, simply because there is less content and more bugs during the journey, and the idea of this is not what affects a community (which is certainly not dwindling), particularly when many already know this due to the many disclaimers found on the store page.

Games live and die through poor management and a lack of updates and polish. A price change during development has never and will never be the downfall of a game.

I think it might make it more daunting for those who didn't get it day 1, but it might end up causing FOMO for those who want to get in it before it gets too expensive. That being said, you can also end up waiting until it's done and then wait for a good sale to pick it up if the increasing price throws you off. Though, it won't help as much if the game does end up pulling the servers with no offline support.

I've seen some EA games go both routes. Though, there are games like PZ which had a low price when it first started, sits at it's current price, and then state that they never want to lower the price lower than the original because they don't want to feel like they are dishonoring the ones who took the leap of faith with them when they first started.
