It's actually a 1/8000 chance to obtain one. This change was made about a month or so ago. The chances were nerfed to reduce the amount of lumas in circulation (there were way too much back when it was 1/6k).

But congrats nonetheless. And yes, to those hunting lumas, stay vigilant. You never know when a sparkly little temtem might crawl out of the grass.

haha,1 in 8000 chance, a lot of websites need to update their info then as most say 1 in 6000.. do you think they will rise it again then in future!? and is there a main page i can check to get latest info?

Or its normal because you are not botting like other people do.

They need to remove botters and add a report feature IN GAME. I still see tons of botters everyday.

Remember that it's entirely RNG/luck-based whether you get a Luma to show up or not. You can get one within your first 10 encounters playing the game, or never encounter one at all, no matter how hard you try.

Just because someone got lucky doesn't mean they're botting, Lich. Use your head. (I'm disregarding trade here, as I doubt he'd have the money for it after only 11 hours.)

I am using my head and there is no way he should have gotten a luma after 11 hours. I know how RNG works and I still say there is no way anyone should have caught a luma after 11 hours. The numbers are just not there as in 8000 and which means people will have higher times like 12000 where they still havent seen one and also lower may be around 6000 but at 11 hours the guy has less than 1000 and most of them are probably trainer battles as he is progressing in the story.

Sorry to say this but no, you don't know how RNG works because it's very possible and the numbers are there. Statistics say that for every 4000 to 8000 players (somewhere in between since wild encounters vary between 2v2 and 2v1) there should be 1 player who will get a luma on their first encounter. So a luma after 11 hours is of course very possible too.

These are the numbers, it's statistical mathematics, you can't argue otherwise because that's how statistics works. If you have 1/8000 chance to succeed in doing something, you should theoretically succeed once if you try it 8000 times, and this can happen anywhere between the 1th and 8000th time. Fun fact though, it may not happen in the first 8000 tries, but then it could happen twice in the next 8000 tries. However, it could also happen 3 times in the first 8000, and never in the next 2 8000 tries. This is statistics, this is RNG.

And if you want some kind of concrete evidence, I'm not losing my time digging through twitter, but in the very first days of temtem's early access release, there was a good number of people claiming to have found a luma already.
