Starter Not Evolving

While playing as the guest in a co-op game with my buddy, my Houchic leveled up to 34. My friend saw the evolve animation, but I didn't see it; I just got my xp, hit A to accept the xp, and then went back to the overworld. I never saw the evolution animation/screen. I didn't hit B at all, at any point. After combat, it's still a Houchic. After another combat, my friend started seeing Houchic again instead of the evolved form.

Uh... what the hell just happened?

I'd blame it in the co-op(?) honestly it has been buggy since release.

Try gaining another level on your own and see if it evolves(?)

try evolving it from the squad menu. after a cancelled evolution theres a button to evolve them from there.
