Nintendo is coming

The problem with this game compared to all the other pokemon clones is this game has a real chance to make a dent in the pet battle genre. I've played TONS of pokemon clones, and none of them are even remotely capable of putting pokemon down for the count, but this game can. And the thing about that is that Nintendo won't let that happen so here's my prediction. After this game does well for a few months and really starts to pick up speed Nintendo will either try to buy the company, alternatively they will finally make an MMORPG Pokemon game(which we've been asking for, for forever).

I'm honestly partial to this game forcing Nintendo to make a PC version of a pokemon MMORPG, because they refused to do it, but now they have no choice, if they don't make one within a year this game will cripple that entire franchise.

If a pokemon clone game doesn't use any code or asset ripped from a Nintendo game there is nothing they can do. And opening the Nth thread about it won't make it happen neither.

You have absolutely no idea how IPs work. This is a completely different game inspired by pokemon. If they stole pokemon sprites, music or other assets then 100% they could be shut down. This is a 100% original work, and just because it shares similarities gameplay wise means nothing.

Otherwise games like Dark Souls (They made it because they didn't own the rights to put Demon's Souls on multiple platforms, Sony owns Demon's Souls), Code Vein (Souls-like), Nioh (VERY Souls-like) would have died.

You can't own a "style" of game. Get educated dude.

I'm hoping this is a joke but if it's not no they don't have to and it definitely won't hurt the Pokemon IP in anyways, even with some of the horrible things they've done already.

This isn't a joke, do you know the 1 thing that the pokemon IP has never done? They never gave a fully online version of pokemon that we actually asked for. Not some walking around GO version garbage, but an actual pokemon MMO game that we've been asking for since pokemon blue and red. And while that franchise might be big make no mistake if they don't compete with this game in the first year they will take most of their customers. Pokemon only has 1 thing going for it in terms of game competition right now, variety. They simply have more, but in a year, that won't matter anymore, because this team would have made enough money to hire more people and start pumping out enough monsters to cover that not to mention more content, and then Nintendo will have some solid competition, problem is at that point what this company would sell for now would multiply by 10.

You don't do much reading do you? This thread has nothing to do with them stealing anything from Nintendo, this is a thread about competition for Nintendo and the pokemon franchise.

Nintendo doesn't care as long as they have no solid competition, because up to this point they haven't. But now they do. This game is the first real competition they've ever had for this franchise. There have been hundreds of clones but none of them did anything original, this game did, and as a bonus added in the MMORPG element that we wanted from the start, not down the line. And if you think Nintendo doesn't care than clearly you weren't around in the 90's when Nintendo went so hardcore against Sega that you could almost see the bloodletting. When it comes to real competition they care. A LOT.

If the completely free to play, on brand, and popular PokeMMO couldn't make a dent in the main game's popularity there is no way in hell a MMO from Kickstarter will even blip on GameFreak's radar. I wish it would so that GF would get off their lazy asses and actually produce good games again but Temtem will not be the one to do it.

Why? Temtem is the only one with original concepts, the only one that has a real MMO around it not just a revised version of the original pokemon game. Their battle style is different, which gives it a lot more variety.

PokeMMO wasn't original at all, it was just everyone in 1 pokemon game, the mistake there is that everyone already played and beat pokemon, so there's no "wow" factor there, it's just the same game but with other people. This game is new, the content for it is fresh, and they'll keep adding content as they go.

Dude the "PP" in this game is completely different because by being "shared between moves" it forces the person to play more strategically. As far as PokeMMO goes having 4 playable regions of a game that everyone has destroyed in other versions isn't original, it isn't fresh and it doesn't make it better by any stretch of the imagination. I don't have blind devotion, I have an objective opinion based on the facts presented unlike you and your devotion to pokemon which has been garbage for quite some time due to their lack of original content.
