Set or not to set?

I'm curious about the clothes that cats can wear.
Does it give you a special power when a complete set is put on a kitten?
For exemple if i put a "bulbasaur" set on my kitten (a set without a weapon) does it give him a boost or a power or something?
If yes :
Do i loose this boost if i give him a weapon from an other set?

Curious as well it seems later sets give less + to each power compared to earlier ones making it abit weird and not really making much sense.

Hi. From what I understood, an individual costume doesn't give you any particular bonus on it's own (in this particular game at least). However, if you dress up all 4 kittens in matching costumes (for example bulbasaur, charmander, squirtle, slowpoke), they will form a team. There's something around 100 teams and each team has its own bonus.
