Issues opening SP18

I know this program is a good 3 years old now, but this isn't exactly a new problem from what I can gather. I can launch it from steam (or externally), the splashscreen opens up, loads for a second or two then just shuts itself down. I've tried to find a crash log but there is none.

Anyone else experiencing this, and if so any solutions? (I have googled for a good hour or so and not found anything that works.)

Because i've done a clean install of Windows as a last resort + upgraded to Win11 to see if it makes any difference. It does not, never had the issue before and it's quite annoying because this product isn't exactly supported anymore so there's no point reaching out to support.

Likely something to do with video drivers. The application uses OpenGL

Issue was that my hardware was incompatible with the shipped libeay32.dll version, so for future reference if anyone else with newer hardware encounters similar issues.

Download a newer version of "libeay32.dll" and replace it in the substance main directory and it should launch like a charm.

If anyone is coming here from the future, beware replacing dlls with random ones you find on the internet, that is a way your computer can get compromised. The following seems to be an official source of the above mentioned dll:
