Layer Locking
Hey Substance Painter is a really lovely program but can you please allow me to lock layers so I dont keep accidentally painting on them? I would also love to be able to lock layer transparency, like you can in photoshop, so I dont keep having to use masks.
Thanks for considering!

If the function is not added, what I do is,
I create a folder, when I finish a layer I throw the layer into the folder and minimize it. I see the folder but not the layers I've finished.
The downside of using folders like this is insuring that when you put the finished layers in to the folder, they go into the folder in the right order... (lol) and if you have to go back an touch something up, you can't just pull it out of the folder or you screw up the order of your layers.

Yea Im not sure how well that would work for me since im really dependant on files being in a certain order, which they cannot be if some are in a folder either always above or below.
They honestly just need a layer locking feature, I cant believe I even have to ask for one tbh its such a given in any art program ever haha.

That is true. however, you could make a folder for each layer, and hide the layer with in it. if you have to move the layer higher of lower, you just move the folder. You can group elements of the model that you have painted within a group folder. It's most likely the best you're going to get for now.

This is my work flow for protecting layers. (Yes, it is SP2017, but the process is the same for all versions)

Here's a thought, try to never use paint and fill layers and instead only create folders when possible and add fill and paint effects onto the folders. But yes Adobe is kind of lost not to have added layer locking yet, what a bunch of idiots ...
