Controller not working? Menu endlessly scrolling one direction? READ THIS!
This thread is mainly directed towards new(ish) players who might have purchased this game and are wondering why they can't go through the menus, or why the buttons don't work.

1. My controller won't register button inputs in-game, help!

You might have noticed as soon as you're loading a song, either the D-pad or the ABXY buttons don't work (and you won't hear either the hi-hat or clap associated with pushing one of the groups of buttons), but there's a very simple fix that works whenever the problem arises: Start the song, and flick one of the analog sticks around a couple of times (left stick for D-pad, right stick for ABXY), and you should be able to hear the hi-hat or clap sound if it's fixed.

According to the controller troubleshooting FAQ, the reason why this happens is because the game thinks one of your controller's analog sticks are not in its neutral deadzone (in other words, the game will think you're holding a direction even though you might have not touched either of the sticks).

2. The menu won't stop scrolling left/right in the initial menu on startup, or up-down in the music select menu! Heeelp!

Now this, I'm not sure what the cause is, but this one also has a very simple solution, and it requires touching your keyboard: Assuming your default keyboard controls are WASD and IJKL, if the menu is endlessly scrolling left or right, press either A, D, J, or L on the keyboard, and it should stop scrolling those directions. Likewise with pressing W, S, I, or K on the keyboard in the music select screen.

Hopefully, Taito and/or Degica will either find a way to fix these problems via a patch or a potential sequel to GC Steam (GC4, anyone?), or at the very least, pin this thread for everyone to read this!
