So... Who's getting WaiWai Party? (Update: US/EU VERSIONS AVAILABLE! $60!)
Much like a lot of you, I was pretty salty when it was first announced; I spent a lot of money getting every DLC for this game, and we didn't really get any new updates since last August (reshuffling the song order doesn't count).

But now, I can see WaiWai Party is being made by a team that actually cares. We're getting a ton of features we've been requesting for this game over the past year, including:

- Swappable navigators
- Custom SFX
- Titles
- A real unlock system (looks like an EXP system not unlike Mobile!)
- A huge and varied starting songlist (with Undertale and Dempagumi DLC packs being released at launch with a bonus song for each!)
- Native controller support
- A REAL TATE MODE! (No need to change your monitor or OS settings!)

And that's not including some songs where you can swap vocals, which they didn't even need to add!

Regardless, at least we're not gonna get an "Oop, We tried!" from whoever's making this game.

I'm most likely going to get this game, How about you?

UPDATE: US and EU versions of the game are now in their respective eShops! All DLC is available, as well!

No Switch. No Party.

(Where i live, the price of that console is expensive as ♥♥♥♥, or my personal case, hard to saving money)
Personally, I feel what they did to be insulting. A lot of us were waiting patiently to get proper support updates while still supporting by buying DLC. Only to have what we've been asking for on another console... This turned me off from Groove coaster.
I'm still holding onto a thread of hope that these features will come over to GCSteam (And not by selling another game, just fix and update this one!)

Only time will tell.. until then. It's a hard pass on Wai Party.
As long as I get the DJMAX and PAD collabs, I'm fine.
Doubt they'll add Cruel Angel's Thesis, let alone Beautiful World; that doesn't have AC charts yet.
I'll probably get it, maybe wait it out a little until more news about a western release drops, which seems doubtful considering what happened to the Steam release.

But it looks promising, maybe it will have english menu options who knows... (or later via update)
i don't have money to afford switch so not for now..
idk, taito ♥♥♥♥ us as consumers imo
The japanese version includes english.
I just played WaiWai Party for a bit, and let me just say that this game is what the Steam version should've become, had the makers actually cared about supporting the game. The game has all the things stated on my original post, including a retry button on the pause menu, an actual calibration system, and Linka even speaks English, complete with brand new lines specifically for this game.

If you have a Switch, go buy the game, it's amazing, and it was made by people who care!
I can't agree more!

I've been playing the game for a bit more than an hour and it's great, controls perfectly with hd rumble (gives a really good rhythm feedback with joycons imo), menus are clear and easy to navigate, it's satisfying option wise (with vertical mode), and there are 300 missions to complete to unlock avatars, titles and items, which are organized in a tree of unlocks. It gives a great sense of progression and compensate the lack of achievement system on the switch.

I'm really digging that version, I've tried both the android and steam versions but this one seems like the definitive one for me.
"this game is what the Steam version should've become"

And if in reality, we were only a test for Taito and all this was just an experiment to use it as proof that a console version would sell more than a PC version? idk, JUST SAYING.
I do not own switch, I feel sad.
No more drive to play, guess will stay with other rhythm games.
EU/US version is same as the ♥♥♥, so if you bought it on second ♥♥♥ account, you can buy DLC's on your EU/US account it will just work!
Nice.
When I read the news I almost died, but since its the same game, I'm relieved now!
No need to buy it "twice" :-)
Yeah, Wai Wai Party certainly seems more fleshed out than the Steam version. That said, my favorite part by far is the ability to use motion controls for the slides and scratches. Makes it feel much closer to the arcade experience.

The game also still seems to suffer from long front-loaded loading for when the game starts up.

I haven't tried the motion controls yet! Will need to try that tonight.

I have noticed a song that has been censored so far in this version it's Brainpower they censor the word "cocaine" in the sung lyrics, but it stays in the map...
I got it, though a bit annoyed how I can't change controls, right now. I'm not a fan of the "slide presses" and just wish I could slide without pressing a booster.
