Bueno, supongo que no habrá muchas reviews de este juego en español pero allá va.

Me acuerdo que conseguí esta visual novel sin realmente saber nada de ella. Es un poco distinta a lo habitual, en el sentido de que no hay decisiones y solo es un camino recto. Eso en principio puede parecer algo malo pero si la historia y los personajes que te cuentan es buena no lo será más, en este caso así fue.

La historia que te plantean es simple: el prota se despierta un día sin poder moverse y se encuentra con una chica que lo único que hace es morir y revivir indefinidamente. Cierto es que a muchos la historia les puede parecer que muchas veces no va a ningún sitio y se ralentiza pero eso mismo forma parte del ambiente que que tiene la historia así que en verdad yo no lo veo como un fallo, solo un característica más de ella. No te presentan el típico mundo de estudiantes y escuela si no más bien lo contrario: un mundo prácticamente muerto salvo por los protagonistas. El final, para el tipo de historia que es le pega bastante, es de esos que al principio no entiendes mucho pero que después cuando lo comprendes te parece un cierre perfecto para el juego. Te puede durar unas 8 o 9 horas ( llevo más porque la volví a empezar)

El arte es bastante vistoso, la sensación que me dejó es como si lo hubiesen dibujado con acuarelas.

La banda sonora aun sin ser de esas enormes y grandilocuentes como, por ejemplo, en un Zelda o Final Fantasy consigue ser encantadora y más de un tema se te quedará en la cabeza por un largo tiempo (al menos eso me pasa a mi)

Los personajes me parecieron bastante conseguidos. La protagonista me pareció adorable y el chico aunque sus reacciones me parecieron a veces extrañas no me dio la sensación de ser un mal personaje. En cuanto a las voces (bueno a parte de la prota solo hay otra voz que apenas dice un par de frases pero la contamos igual) está bastante bien, como es costumbre en muchas visual novel el prota no esta doblado.

Si le tengo que sacar algo malo al juego sería una cosa:

-La traducción al inglés. Más de una y dos veces te va a dar la sensación de que o faltan letras o se ha traducido de una forma muy rara y te costará un poco entender lo que dicen. Aun así esto no arruina la experiencia demasiado.

Sinceramente por el precio que tiene, las horas que te dura y lo bien que lleva su historia y sus personajes merece mucho la pena. Deseo que los que hicieron este juego saquen otra visual novel de igual calidad que esta o superior, la adquiría y jugaría con todo mi corazón como hice con esta.

Whilst the translations, spellings and grammar are poor and off-putting, at least it provides nice visuals and a story worth reading till the end.

Graphics: 7.5/10
The artwork is simple for faces and sceneries the most part, but there is the occasional two or three CGs that do show up that are absolutely beautiful. Some are even “Wallpaper worthy”. Sure, it’s not mind-blowing like all the other high-budget VNs, but this is surprising considering this a low-budget title. I’m highly impressed.

Storyline: 8.5/10
You wake up on a post-apocalyptic Earth around the year 4000 – almost 2000 years from when you last remembered. You meet a girl who has a “mission” and she takes you with her as you ask; this is where your adventure begins.
The story pacing is a little bit slow to start off…it only really picks up in the last 3-4 hours of read time (about halfway) which to be fair is where I found the story to get interesting. The ending is a little sudden, but it’s nicely done.

Sound: 9/10
Quiet, ambient and almost silent in some cases which fit the atmosphere. There isn’t a lot of soundtracks which is why most of these are played and repeated more than I’d like, but considering this is a low-budget title this is more than enough. The girl is also fully voiced which is a nice added bonus.

Gameplay: 5.5/10
There is a lot of issues that needs addressing here. Firstly and most importantly the translations, spellings and grammar need to be sorted out…they are the worst that I have ever seen in ANY VN which is saying a lot. Secondly, why is there no “exit” button to exit the game? You have to resort to pressing ALT + F4 to close the game every time (if you’re playing in full screen). And lastly, whenever you load a save file, the text speed changes from fast to slow which may slightly irritatate you. There are some other small issues here and there (work-arounds exists for those at least), but those are the major ones you should watch out for.

Price: 9/10
With the amount of gameplay issues, you’d think it may not be worth buying, but for only £3.99 you aren’t really losing all that much here. Any higher than £6 and I wouldn’t have recommended it. This is worth it for the small price it’s asking for.

Everything is dead. There are no more living beings on the Earth. There’s no grass, plants, flowers, no microorganisms, no animals, and certainly no humans. The only two living beings left are a young girl and a boy named Kyoya. Humans had started a war that had wiped out everything. Dilapidated buildings and endless sand was all that remained. The young girl was created by one named the Creator, who needed her to take on the sins of humanity. She was created to die in the horrible ways that mammals did, to remove those sins. These deaths included being crushed by something that isn’t there, being burned alive by fire that spontaneously combusts on her, filled with holes by invisible bullets, etc. After her death, she revives and continues to die, tens of hundreds of times, until she has removed the sins of the dead in those areas. She then moves on to the next, repeating these same steps. For Kyoya, he does not recall how he got there. All he can remember is his father pulling him out to the car with talk of war, and that was it. He woke up in a desolate building, watching the young girl die over and over. Kyoya cannot move his body. He can only look around with his eyes and talk with his mouth. He asks the young girl to carry him around with her, because it is much better than being left all alone without being able to move.

This story lets you see through the eyes and mind of Kyoya. You experience his thoughts and feelings on what is happening around him. You get to see him grow, see how he reacts to the young girl and deals with her Purpose. Kyoya helps the young girl, who he names Asagiri, experience new things aside from her Purpose of dying. He teaches her shapes and how to play and have fun. The two of them grow together in different ways. That is the story. Their journey where Asagiri completes her Purpose of dying, and Kyoya’s on his search for others that may be in his situation while also trying to help Asagiri out.

At first, you do not experience the deaths that Asagiri experiences. You just watch helplessly from the sidelines as she dies. At one point though, Kyoya figures out how to experience them for himself with her. These deaths are detailed. They are filled with gore and depression. I would not be remiss to say that these are probably deaths that people in real life have dealt with, especially during times of war. This game is not for the faint of heart. It is a game of life and a game of death. A game of happy moments and sad moments. It is a journey of one’s Purpose. Why did the Creator create Asagiri to experience the deaths and atone for the sins of all mammals? Why must this young girl experience this? She looks like a child, and yet she does not act like one. She is monotonous in her way of speaking. She has no emotion. All she knows is what the Creator has taught her and what her Purpose is. It is only when she meets Kyoya, that her life starts to change, although she still continues her Purpose. Kyoya is another oddity. How did he get there? Why is he suddenly the only other person here in this desolate world, devoid of all life except for Asagiri?

When I originally started the game, I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to feel about it. I knew it was going to be about death with the young girl. What I didn’t know is that we are viewing this story from someone else besides her. The story has me asking so many questions that are thankfully answered as I go through the plot. It had hooked me. I wanted to see how it ended. I needed to know the full truth.


I did not play the game before the update with the fixed translations. I do not know how abhorrent it was, but the current version of the game is completely fine and understandable. There are some mistakes with spelling and grammar, as well as the sentence structures are sometimes stiff. They typically aren’t always written in a way that someone who is a native English speaker would use, but everything is still completely understandable. When you read the story, you know what is going on and what is happening. There is no confusion, most of the time anyways. I did find a handful, especially later in the game where the translation suffered a bit more and a few words were wrong. For example, the word “dairy” was written, but it was supposed to be “diary”.


This game really knows how to play with your emotions and tug on the heartstrings. One minute you’re getting excited, maybe a little nervous. The next minute you’re shocked and then your feelings are stomped on and feelings of sadness and loneliness are the only feelings remaining.

I do not know how to feel about the ending. I feel unhappy, yet happy. Satisfied yet not satisfied. I want more. I want an epilogue to the epilogue. Throughout this journey, most of my questions have been answered. Even with the ending credits scenes, which tell a story, seem to answer some questions, I feel like I still have some that have gone unanswered. I could probably make a guess as to what is true, as I’m sure that is what is intended, but I am not a fan of some things being left up to interpretation and open-ended. I think some things truly did need to be answered by the story, but I know that’s probably not what they were going for when this story was written. Overall, I truly enjoyed this game and I am going to be thinking about it for a while to come.


There’s not much more that I can write about it without spoiling anything. Together We Live is a kinetic visual novel. There are no choices. You just read it, like a book with pictures and sounds. You experience the world through the eyes of Kyoya, who does not have a voice actor. Only Asagiri does and it is done exceptionally well. The art and Asagiri’s sprites are very simple. Her hair and maybe the watch, are probably the only things really detailed. The background art is recycled quite a few times. Even the majority of the CGs are very simple in terms of art and backgrounds, but hoo boy there sure are a lot of them. I’m not sure if I wish for more detailed CGs or the amount that we got. Some are very similar, with slight variations and some are probably unneeded, but I enjoyed them all the same. The ending credits CGs are by far my favorite. They are gorgeous and like another reviewer stated, definitely wallpaper worthy. There is not much in terms of an OST soundtrack, I believe only 12 tracks total, but each fits the theme for the game very well. Although some repeat more often than others, the melancholic tone it portrays does it justice. The feelings the music imbues in the reader of despair, hope, fear, is done so well I can’t think of many other games that do it so skillfully.

This is a story about death, sadness, happiness, suffering, growth, learning, etc. Above all though, this is a game about life and the two people that experience it together. Even if you don’t think this game might be for you, I suggest giving it a try. I assumed I would not like it, and if it weren’t for the curator copy that was received, I may have never given it a chance. I am quite grateful for the opportunity I was given to experience this wonderful game, characters, and story.

The english translation is bad, but not unreadable, so you can still understand whats happening.
And for those who don't know, this is a kinetic novel, meaning there's no choices whatsoever. I know that some people don't like these so there's your forewarning.

But me?

I love this, the story was full of twists and turns, minor things became important later on and the voice acting was amazing.
This has quickly become one of my favourite.
Absolutely recommended.

Amazing and highly underrated visual novel that I fully recommend. I don't want to spoil anything but I will say the while the premise itself isn't the most original, as I kept reading I felt it was something truly special. The only issue is the translation but personally I can overlook it to enjoy the story.

So if you overlook the translation, grammar and typo issues across this whole VN, I can assure you that this is a really great VN with a touching story for the price you pay. You could even consider this one a hidden gem here on steam. Very highly recommended.

I received the remake copy of this game that was released on Dec, 21, 2023. I have not played the original copy so I experienced this the first time.
I usually play romance visual novels so when I started to read this VN I was skeptical that I would finish reading this. I have a very low energy bar so I won’t force myself to review something just because I got it for free (>he does it for free). But after forcing myself to read the prologue it did draw me in.

Review
Both music and art support the setting a lot and make the story feel emotional that the text alone would not do. The art and scenery are pretty, the girl does look very uncanny sometimes but she is supposed to be unworldly. The sound, art, voice acting and music all I can say are good.
This story is a post-apocalyptic world journey of two humans: a girl who never dies, who must experience death to atone for the sins of humanity she had nothing to do with, and the boy who travels with her. In the remake version the translation is readable. There are some grammar/spelling mistakes I noticed or unnatural wording but I could understand and read every line. This story is heart wrenching and yeah there are a lot of deaths but the sadness comes more from the relationship between the two humans than anything else. This story still has a lot of mystery at the ending epilogue but there is something ethereal about it that makes you cry but also feel at peace as well.
I am a sucker for these types and I can clearly see what the authors were doing by making one of the characters a little girl and I could guess what was going to happen in many story beats but they still successfully made me cry at the end. It really is a lovely story of people who need and connect and understand each other completely in an undefined relationship that does not need a name. The themes too I can understand. Suffering and joy and is joy worth the suffering,(a big hedgehog dilemma too..) I did not find an answer from reading this story but I really do appreciate the way the themes were presented even if it is a predictable way the execution is what mattered.

Conclusion
I was not expecting to finish reading this story but, Together we Live, very much intrigued me. It gave me more thoughts about what it means to have a connection with someone but also it's amazing that people can even think of this story anyways and articulate it in a short visual novel story. I am really glad I was able to read this story. It did make me cry. It cost 9.99 and for me due to the content I would say buying on sale is worth it based on the length but 9.99 if you want to support the creators. It is a kinetic VN but the emotional content of the story might make you feel something for a short afternoon and ponder even more after.
