Rival Revival (Fighting Vile 4 times) - Megaman X8

The Achievement states that you must encounter Vile 4 times before gateway. I Encountered him twice. Once in Inferno, and once in Pitch Black.

I played the game though. beating all 8 stages and, and am now sitting at the Jakob stage; however, no matter how many times I run through these stages, I cannot find Vile anywhere.

I am curious if, like in X3, you must get the Vile encounters BEFORE beating all 8 stages, and if not what am I doing wrong?

I am really at a loss and would rather not play through the game again just to get this one achievement.

After you encounter him twice in the main stages (you found him Inferno and Pitch Black) the third encounter is the Jakob Elevator. After that you can find him at Noah's Park for the fourth encounter
